Start over if you want; two months is not that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.

But if you do start over, and you want to start right, just join one of the large, legit noob corps. There are several. EVE University, Red v. Blue, and Brave Newbies, Inc. all come to mind. These are corps where lots and lots of new people just like you join to learn the game. Unlike 95% of crappy little two-man high sec corps in game, they will give you real help like free skillbooks and cheap ships and fittings to use while you're learning to play (and learning how to make ISK on your own). And when you're ready to move on, you will find that a lot of legit and more "elite" corps recruit from these big high sec noob corps to fill their ranks.

There are also a few starter corps that have pretty good communities, and you can join those for free just by rolling a new alt in the right school. Center for Applied Studies (Gallente) is the only one that I have personal knowledge of, but there may be other starter corps that have long term helpful players. They will also have a certain run of trolling alts who just use the NPC corp as a personal decshield. But they're still better than 80% of the player corps you will find.

Getting in with a good group of fellow noobs at the start will make a huge difference in how much fun you have and how long you ultimately stay. It's probably the biggest single "easy" choice you can make at the start to improve your experience.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

Do all of your factions tutorials. Sell all of the ships you get from the missions.

Do all of another factions tutorials. Sell those ships.

You will end up with either a bunch of ships or several million isk or both.

That should be enough for a jumpstart.

Disciples Of Acheron were not the ones scamming me, they are good people that helped me alot in my early days. Bryndolph Vermagnus gave me some ships and stuff when I started which I thank him for.

I have sorted my issue out with the right people.

Go to another different set of Career Agents in one of the rookie systems. Restart the Epic Arc. You'll be good in less than a week.

Time is the only asset that cannot be bought in EVE Online and that is what makes it and the skill points that come along with it priceless. Unless your skills are truly ridiculous you should never think about restarting. You might say " but I can buy skill points by buying a toon". This is not true.. a bought toon will always be looked down upon and it will never feel truly yours since you didn't put in any time creating it nor did you make the skill choices that make it unique and personalize it yourself. Furthermore a bought toon can have a history a mile long, require a shitload of repetitive missioning to get standings and could be a hated pirate for all you know. The kill sheet, friends and enemies that come with it will never be yours as well. All you will ever be is "that guy who bought X's account".

Your original toon is your EVE identity and your passport proof of experience. Cherish and value it as it is part of your future in this game. Some major alliances require you to still own your original toon even when you have 20 alts. They will not recruit newbs with bought toons. Hope you keep this in mind.

TLTR: I recommend you keep it.

Keep the same character-- when I resubbed I decided to do so on ali instead of making a new character, and that decision has saved me a couple of skilltrains ("wait, why the f--- did I think remote armor repair systems 5 was a good decision? I haven't used it for months...welll....okay, now I can fly logi"). I did so even though I had some bad associations with previous play attempts.

Like others have said, keep at it, you'll be able to pick yourself up and get back on your feet in no time :) If you haven't tried it yet, ninja salvaging is a fantastic way to make a lot of isk in a cheap ship-- think of yourself as basically a Remora alongside a shark (missioning boat. Like sharks, they frequently do not bite)

Just to clear some issues up, it was goonwaffle that scammed me, but I have done some research I am not the first person to be scammed but I will learn from this and be stronger. I have been helped by some very friendly people who I wish to thank! And no I won't be singing but I will give you isk if you jump out of your window and put the video on youtube :) have a nice day

Wait.

You got scammed by Goonwaffe.

HAHAHAHA.

Sorry, but then you had it coming. They have been using that scam for at least 3 years (the time I spent in EVE) and it was heavily documented that they use it. Hell, with some research you would have also known that the only way to get into Goonwaffe is by being a SA poster.

So you are the only single person to blame and should not have come complaining or what so ever about it.

The only thing you likely did research on is see who the biggest was and you wanted to join them. So, too bad, but those type of players are not the players I will even help out by giving them some ISK to get back on their feet. And I don't see why others did it. Rather would have seen they used that ISK in a good way.

If you did some research and would have been wronged, I would be very grateful to help you get back on your feet.

Hi

I had a encounter today that has pushed me to the brink of fully quitting eve forever! So let me begin I made a school boy error and signed up to a corp that not only got 50million oak out of me but also my ships. My toon only had 3.7million sp and I am thinking of just completely starting again with a new character etc and try to go a pvp/pve route. Would anyone else do what u am thinking or is it just a waste of my time?

No need to start a new character unless they somehow stole your skillpoints as well.

Sorry you got scammed, but in some ways it's best for this to happen early, rather than you learn a lesson from losing years of accumulated assets rather than a few weeks.

Wow, that sucks, sorry to hear you got scammed. Re-rolling seems like it would be a waste of time. Its not like you lost anything SP wise, you can always add to what you have. If anything, re-rolling will be a waste of time when you start training needed skills you already have.

As for items, yeah, either redo newbie tutorials and get new items or buy a plex and cash it in.

Well I have turned stuff around so when I see troll post I laugh. I am about to set up another account for pvp matters and use my main for industry. I have some ships so I am back in a good place. I am now in a friendly corp that has given me some advice. To the person that says I should have researched I have not been play eve for a long time and I put a message in the recruitment chat and goonwaffle came to me. So I did not even know who they were etc

So. You just joined the first corp that contacted you. With out knowing who they were etc.

So...still the same, it was your own fault.

Hell there is actually a very decent guide here on the foruns about how to find your corp.
You decided to not do any research at all and just join what ever approaches you. This migh work i other MMOs but doesnt in EVE.

Eh, it's not that bad if you're super new...who expects a whole website dedicated to giving someone a space wedgie? Welcome to EVE.

Now that you know how to get in goons, do it. Then do nothing but post links to old men giving each other head in fleet chat while stuff is happening.

He's not saying it wasn't his fault. Jeez, he's not whining, he's asking for advice. No need to kick him while he's down.

I am not bothered by their immature comments, people like them are the type of people who have no friends and are to scared to go outside! Like I said I have learnt from it and doing the right things. Thanks to all the helpful people and to the trolls you are very boring.
