I've done it... Murdered my first barge

Welcome to the fun. In my experience there have been only a couple of cases where the target warped out after I have started firing. Several more warped out because they noticed my scout getting close and they tucked their tails and ran while my destroyer was still in warp, but in those cases it is easy to redock without harm.

Fitting sensor boosters instead of a scram makes it easier to get pods. Pods really are the cherries on top of the icecream.

Making New Eden a better place 8 rounds of Void at a time.

Funny, smartest, pretty and relevant. Pick 3.

Thanks for replies! This will be a dedicated ganking toon, but I am new to PvP in this game, and fairly new to the game in general.

Your suggestion to drop the warp scram for a SEBO seems logical, since most miners will be stationary, not aligned, and/or AFK. I could fit both with a 2% CPU implant, but unfortunately, it takes up the same slot as my 3% SHT implant, so that's out.

Reason I went with Tech I in my original build is I have a main with ML 50 BPOs for LNB I and MFS I and had planned on making my own, since I'm not space rich. I certainly would consider using some meta items if I find them cheap enough and in enough quantity, especially if I end up joining New Order and get at least partially reimbursed for losses, and then I could sometimes fit a WS and a SEBO.

I have SHT V, so it would take literally minutes to train into LNB IIs. I'm guessing I should stick with T1/meta for Retrievers, and T2 for Macks, Hulks, and Noctis?

No words can describe this.

Wow. Brilliant kill! Congratulations. Twisted

Bone-headed miner deserved to die twice.

Pretty much. The cheap-fit Cats seem to do well with the lol-fit Retrievers and such - I've been over-gunning, it seems.

Tech 2 neutron blasters will help you get more pods, as you'll be more likely to get one more shot off after popping the ship.

Sometimes you'll find some idiot with a Michi's Excavation Augmenter - if you do, post the killmail in the minerbumping channel (ask on James' website for the password if you need it) and you'll be space famous in all the right crowds.

Gotta take what you can get!

Got my first ragemail when I deliberated an autopilot-travling pod in lowsec from his long journey.

A whole 5 Minutes later I get this reply:

Yes, that's exactly right. Alert, tanked, and a tough nut to crack. Wouldn't catch me opening fire on that!

Heh! Sweet. Cool

So, lost a Cat in Lo-Sec yesterday; that's what happens when inexperienced T1 and experienced T2 land in the same belt at the same time: Didn't have the range, didn't have the defenses, but did manage to get my pod out. Call it a lesson in humility - Gankers get ganked too.

Edit:
Oh, and I managed to get my good moved, so I should be ready to rock tonight. Pirate

And a BIG thank you to Capt Starfox! Way cool what you did. Cool

There is no Law in eve. Everything permitted by CCP is a permitted play style. You can like it or not. You can kill it or not. But you cannot Judge. When I read someone to judge, I know they want to hide something.

You say you are pissed by miners’ tears. This is an excuse. There are more PVPer’s tears out there in the forum. Why don’t you go out there and kill them?

You hide something. You like to kill a (probably) 1 month noob, an unarmed guy. Fine by me, I could do the same for fun (if I could find any). But say it, say the truth.

Put “wrong” and “right” at the side. Say “that is what gives me joy”. And as far as it is permitted, it is ok. Just ok. Not moral or something.

I look on what I am doing, not what others are doing. I blame myself, not others. Especially for their playstyle. Others, the different from me, have the same with me right to exist.

Aaaaand pop psychology rears its ugly head. With a side-helping of moral equivalence. Roll
A little surprised it took so long.

Hey, bigshot: The tools are there - look me up. Everyone else here can, as well - Then slink back to whatever manky hole you crawled out of in humiliation when the truth is known.

An update comes out, and the miners scream, rant, threaten to ragequit. But they never do. If they did, I might have some sympathy. But all they do is ForumRage. No follow-through. Another update, and more of the same.

They show an incredibly self-centered contempt for other play styles. Sure, the Nul-Sec'ers frequently do the same, but there's a difference - Nul-Sec'ers actually get up and *do* things. On occasion, at least. Blink

Increasingly, I've been off-put by the miners whinging. More and more, I've found myself tempted to gank them. Then came Odyssey. Odyssey was too much.
I bought a stack of Catalysts.

Today, I successfully used one of my shiny-new blaster-fit Catalysts to ruthlessly murder an inoffensive Retriever. He deserved it.
He was mining all alone in a 0.5 sec space in a LoL-fit Retriever. I entered the belt almost by accident... Fumbled about clumsily, bumbled my way through the rocks, and locked him up, scanned him down. He didn't even twitch... clearly AFK with a LoL-fit in 0.5 space. He had it coming to him.
I burned him down.

I'm new to this game of Ganking. I didn't have enough firepower to finish his hull in time to burn his pod too, before Concord did for me... But I'm getting better. Soon pods will join barges on my killboard. Pirate

Enjoy grinding your sec status up :) I have some tags I will sell you.

I may yet take you up on the offer of tags. Fortunately, I'm not so far down to be out of action. Yet. That will come soon enuogh - And I'll learn how to live with a target painted between my shoulder blades.

They're simply using the self same mechanics that miners have been using for years to hide from wardecs. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander.

Yup. And if anyone *really* has a problem with gankers... Sell the kill-rights + add a bounty. But that would be too easy, I suppose - Forum-whinging is easier.
