Launch Drones key? no problem (well, its work in progress)

I don't know why there isn't a hotkey for this in the game already. There's a hotkey for everything else, including making your drones attack, orbit or return to your drone bay.. Why not have one to launch them from your drone bay too? :/

This is, as everyone at CCP would know as well, technically maybe not allowed, but in practice everyone should be using it as it's only there to patch up a hole in game which they for whatever reason never got to fix themselves.

From what I have read, it just old code.

If Drones slots work like other item containers in the game, I'm not surprised. I cant even run a search for an item and find it, when it's inside a container, and since I had initially had started using containers to separate stuff into "folders", you can understand how confused I was at first.

Flights are dynamic, so it was probably too much hassle to figure out how to tie a button to what amounts to a variable container ... who knows.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

A botting program will have automated code that sniffs out color to see changes in game or uses a scripting system to generate an event that requires no player interaction.

Calling a hotkey to launch a flight of drones "botting" is like saying that sitting a pencil on my F1-F4 keys so I can whack it once to press all of them at the same time is botting.

Maybe we need to get CCP to go back to individual gun keys, since obviously, by allowing "weapon grouping" they facilitated botters?

You REALLY like drama don't you.

I apparently have no idea what I'm doing.

CCP's stance (which is a good one imo) is that automation is a violation, but macros/ease of use modifications are not. This obviously falls under the latter and anyone who says different is being silly.

Well, just for the conspiracy theorists, this is a picture, still inside the VB.NET editor of what the program looked like.

The "invisible" toggle is to make the form transparent, so you can see through it to the eve screen underneath.
