Religion and Eve - A petition

I have noticed on my jumping around the place that cans advertising religious messaging cropping up all over the place. Sadly it is the Christians that have instigated it and that annoys me.
This GAME is about relaxing - getting immersed in an alternate reality that has little to no bearing on many things in RL - politics and religion included (Eve roleplaying scenarios excepted). In my reality I do not include religious messages or do I want them and I want to see if they can also be removed from the game.

MY petition:

Either 1.) I move to have cans carrying ALL messages removed from the game AND/OR
2.) remove the capability for messages to be placed on cans AND/OR
3.) Give messaging cans a space life to self destruct

If you back this motion, pls post with +1.

If you have an alternative and possibly better suggestion that achieves the same end with reduced programming requirements, please post that here too.

I am aware of my own ignorance and have checked my emotional quotient - thanks for asking

Why didn't you just open a petition ticket and report them?

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

I actually don't think it's against the rules. This is more of a discussion on how the community as a whole feels about religious preaching in Eve.

Personally...I don't like it if it's outside of RP context.

And the point is? I mean, are you not allowed to warp off until you have read every single last one?

It is honestly one of the easiest things to ignore in the entire game, saying those things are annoying you is like saying google-ads annoy you, except that couldnt possibly be because cans dont use your recent internet history to advertise and get you in trouble with your girlfriend.

But seriously, if you dont like what they say, dont read them or look at them, its easy, kinda like ignoring all the contract scam-spam in jita/amarr.

Report them for breaking the naming policy and/or (depending on the message) the rules forbidding solicitation.

There's no such freedom or right in EVE.

Why would you have secure cans enabled on the overview in the first place? That''s just wrong.

Second this. I don't have cans or containers of any kind on my travelling overview. Works great. If I have some need to look at a can, that's just a tab away.

My overview doesn't block characters with names like "Atheistic Dawkins," either, but dude can get down with his Dawkinsian atheism all day for all I care. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg to have someone expressing a real-world belief in EVE. It breaks my immersion somewhat, but it's far from the only thing that does.

You're playing from the old Troll 1.0 handbook which states the main Troll fuels are - Religion, Politics and Sexual Orientation and/or Race.

You need to upgrade to 1.2, also, 0/10 Arrow

Sure there is. You just have to be ready to answer for what you say.

Nope.

Your rights and freedoms can be summed up as:
· You have the right to be quiet.
· You have the right to stop subscribing.
· You have the right to not log on.
· You have the right to obey the devs and GMs.

That is pretty much the full list. It's CCP's servers, so it's their rules, and there are no “natural rights” that aren't covered by the second point.

Yeah I aren't religous in anyway, but how about **** off? People like you sicken me. Everyone has a right to believe what they want, so stop trying to tell other people what they can do...
If you want to wardec them in game or whatever sure, but don't go harping on about how religion is wrong and you don't want to see it anywhere because its wrong in your eyes...

It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself.
