As revealed now, the USA weren't the only ones spying on everyone.
GB, Canada, Australia and New Zealand also do the same.

But the most ridiculous thing is: the names.

"Mastering the Internet"
"Global Telecoms Exploitation"

This is what they were calling their programs.

And the oh-so-awesome name of their group:

"Five Eyes Electronic Eavesdropping Alliance"

Seriously?

Couldn't they find something more comic-book villain sounding monikers?

I mean their alliance sounds like the mentally challenged brother of S.P.E.C.T.R.E. whom they try not to mention because of the embarassment he causes for his evil conspiracy family.

I got lost in thought... it was unfamiliar territory.

Funded by theft upon pain of death or incarceration and you think they're going to be benevolent?

BTW alliances of governements not fingered 'sharing' intelligence kinda covers the globe.

Just thought id throw that in there.

Yeh, they know what you watched.

"caught on fire a little bit, just a little."

"Delinquents, check, weirdos, check, hippies, check, pillheads, check, freaks, check, potheads, check .....gangs all here!"

Who woulda' thunk that the same gaggle of wackos who thought bombing third-world countries after starving their populations with ~sanctions~ was a good idea and in "their best interests," could come up with this comically evil scheme for their own populace?

Give 'em some slack, they just like Orwell's 1984 so much, they want to turn it into reality.

If you have a server you're not really using, you could have a ton of fun with that. Simply create a bot sending random emails with content made up from the now public keyword list. Send it to random senators and US politicians...and laugh at them wasting a truckload of money trying to make sense of your automatic emails Twisted

I dunno, the apathy is mighty strong. It may take a while yet before the guillotines are rolled out en masse. Bear

To be honest, I was surprised about the overall scale. Comic-book villans is a good analogy. Anybody electing those people is braindead or worse. Where is Morgan Freeman ?

Usually on MSNBC or CNN touting the "everyone who is critical of this administration is a racist," line.

Not that the rethuglicans are anyone worthy of defense, but it's worth mentioning that Freeman, as with most of Hollywood are the Rush Limbaugh(s) of the left. They really don't give a damn whose rights are being violated so long as their guy is on top and their favorite government programs are being funded.

On the contrary. They're rolling out the guillotines, but unfortunately "they," are partisan hacks and the victims are going to be the relatively innocent bystanders who are on the wrong side of whatever political battle takes place when the GOP falls apart.

Tienanmen Square is going to look like a picnic.

Don't hate the voters. Most of them are simply punch-drunk on propaganda that they're spoon-fed from cradle to grave in their government schools and public media. Hate the politicians who wants to use theft, fraud, kidnapping, murder, and other coercive means to meet their stated (and unstated) goals.

Why governments get away with that sh!t!

Now go and get your new XBox to play that amazing new copy of CoD.
You know you want to and Microsoft has already backpedalled, so there is nothing to fear, right?

Damn. I was hoping it would be Iceland. Then I would have yet another reason to exalt the island of CCP and various volcanic deities.

This has been going on for ages. To be honest I think anyone is stupid for twittering using their real name where the wrong joke can get you arrested. Thing is, people used to laugh at East Germany and Russia etc where telling the wrong joke at work would get you informed upon and your house bugged, now these places probably have more free speech than UK, USA, so who's laughing now.

Haha yeah, lets point and laugh at the people being abused by their government. No way it's also happening to us!

Indeed, the only difference is the general method of controlling the population. Brave New World instead of 1984.

Obama is currently trotting out some Climate Change legislation to keep the left paralyzed while he does his best to murder/imprison Snowden.

Pretty solid strategy. The right-wing will never stop worshiping the police state. The left-wing could be distracted by literally anything that begins with the word "green." Both are clinically ******** enough by their public school education to keep on believing this no matter how much news of their enslavement leaks into the international media.

Yay democracy!
