It caused some issues with engines displaying upon decloaking. Basically engines wouldn't show up on exiting cloak if your ship entered warp too fast.

Oooh, that's nice. Why did we lose that? I'd love to see that effect reintroduced, maybe in a different way - the sweep starts from the physical location the cloak generator is in (IE, the hardpoint you've attached the cloak to) and covers the rest of the ship from there. Simply placing a cloak in your first slot would then look completely different from placing it in your last slot.

Wow, that looks ossum! So you say they got rid of that kickass effect because they couldn't fix frakkin bug with rendering parts of model? WTF?

I guess we all can agree that shields are freaking awesome.

But what effects should they have when they break down?

Amarr? No idea, they have shields too?

Animation size tied to the signature resolution / size of the weapon. So a drone hit is barely visible on a BS but on a frig it would be relative big.

Actually, Eve used to have Oval shield. Then we got a graphical downgrade. Same as cloaking. Same as gating before they implemented the new one in Odyssey. Graphical downgrade happened to a lot of things, don't ask me why...Roll

Exactly, and it appears everyone is for getting new shiny stuffs. Obviously gameplay should take priority over graphics, but surely CCP can dedicate a team or two to graphic shinies :P pwease?

Shields that stand off a little ways from the hull would be cool, but I don't want to see spherical "bubble shaped" shields. Would still need some sort of active hardener and shield booster effects. Looking at the animations on ships is an important way to gain info on them.
