The Dscan almost never been changed and realy need to be upgraded.

Range :
- Add distance selection ladder with 15Au / 10Au / 5Au / 1Au / 0.01Au
- keep the possibility for custom distance selection but using AU instead of Km

Angle :
- 5° / 15° / 30° selections need more space between them
- add a visual effect in space that show a cone/circle where you looking at when angle is lower or egal to 90°

Overview :
- allow us to load a different D-scan setting than current overview

D-scan is a very usefull tool, he need to be redone.

EDIT : More ideas due or from good (and tasty) brains :

°Prima Freedoom --> add a visual effect in space that show a cone/circle where you looking at when angle is lower or egal to 90° AND add it to the solar system 3D map

°Anna Djan --> allow to auto-refresh D-scan if possible, or add a keyboard shorcut to the 'scan' button

°Myself --> had a small visual timer between 2 allowed D-scan use, or simply let this 'scan' button unclickable.

°Rhyarkh --> use of a radio button menu and/or additionnal drop down menu previously setted by user

°Rhyarkh --> add possibility to gently move the camera with keyboard when a really small movement is needed /// add a combination of "no mouse acceleration" (or a different one) and "show something that we can use to aim"

°Lipbite --> add icons of scanned targets, like in overview

This effect could be added in the solar system 3D map

Solid ideas, +1 especially to the increased indentation distance between 5,15,30 degrees, the tiny arse movement you need there is irritating beyond belief for someone that spends a lot of time trying to catch ratters/missioners.

Not sure having an auto-refresh can be done (for moment), due to server' bandwidth use that may create.

But adding a keyboard shorcut to the 'scan' button could be pretty good.

...Oh! and, please, had a small visual timer between 2 allowed D-scan use, or simply let this 'scan' button unclickable. That simple thing will stop many of us (me for exemple) to spam-click the button like jerks Ugh

Yes, that would be really great. Using the d-scan doesn't need to be easier, but it needs to be more comfortable.

I'd prefer for some standard AU options a radio button menu. It might be an idea to have an additional drop down menu for own distances that a user has saved before.

Definitely!

Personally, I don't like that slider. I'd prefer radio buttons or a drop down menu instead.

Yes, a drop down menu that loads a user defined overview setting would be great!

And one very important addition: Currently, I'm aiming while holding ALT down when I'm doing a 5° scan. I'm using a Logitec G5 mouse which has high dpi. The camera acceleration makes it VERY hard to aim. I'd like to have an option to aim without that camera/mouse acceleration or whatever it is. Moving the mouse cursor just a little bit to the left, right, down or up is almost impossible.

Don't know if it's easy to program but a good and natural way to do this should be to create a key combination : Alt + Directionnal Key

Want to move camera bit on left ? Press Alt + Right arrow, the camera will slowly, and at constent speed, move to the left. This way you'll also see the center of your ship (with Alt) in the same time.

Exactly like it was before but using keyboard instead of the mouse.

I don't have any trouble aiming without that mouse acceleration. I can aim very precisely even with my high dpi. So a combination of "no mouse acceleration" (or a different one) and "show something that we can use to aim" should be enough.

I think that actually there is really lot of things to aim at.

With Odyssey we now have cosmic sig to aim at, there is backets (from sun to moons, with lot of stellar objects) and we also have the tracking camera.

By pressing Alt we have the D-scan source who really help.

Aiming is not really a problem isn't it ?

Icons. I want icons on d-scan. Ships, probes, containers, drones, wrecks should have different icons.

While pressing ALT it is difficult to aim, yes. I think the reason for this is the mouse acceleration in combination with a high dpi mouse (I don't want to change every time the dpi of my mouse to a lower dpi).

In the following example I'm using the term "crosshair" for the bracket that is my ship (those bracket that appears while pressing ALT).

Imagine the following situation: I'm pressing ALT and try to aim at a FW site. The crosshair isn't exactly over the bracket of the FW site, but a little bit to the left of it. I don't know how much deviation from my crosshair to the FW site bracket is allowed, so I try to aim a little bit better. Usually, I would only have to move my mouse a little bit to the right and my crosshair would be covering the FW site bracket, but the mouse acceleration ... well ... it accelerates my mouse too much and the crosshair is on the right side of the FW site bracket.

Usually, I don't have any trouble to move my mouse course over something else. It's pretty easy even with high dpi, but while pressing ALT or moving the camera around the ship, it is difficult.
