Just can't find anything to do

I'm finding very little to do in this game.

I've tried going to lowsec space in a frigate but all the happens is that I'm killed in a few seconds by a crusier or 2.

I tried exploration in highsec space but all I find is wormholes or combat sites

All I end up doing is security missions and mining as they seem to be the only good way to advance in this game.

Maybe you should join some player corp and do stuff with them?

Have you seen the corp recruitment on this forum? Its big meanless names and 10m SP players. Is anyone going to be interested in a 500000 SP player?

A similar thread is going on in another part of the forums, and since i already responded there i will be lazy and just leave a link to said post here. Yes, i am that lazy right now Lol

Also keep in mind that you dont really "advance" in EVE. Mining and missions is not something you do because you are to "new" to do something else, its something you do because you enjoy it. By the sounds of it you dont enjoy either one, so dont do them.

Go to low sec, go into that random WH, get blown up and learn from it, find ways to not get blown up, try other ways or find a completely different profession. And of course, this might give you some new ideas on what you can do in EVE Big smile

Yes, there are corps that will be interested in a low SP player. If you are having trouble finding a corp i suggest reading this guide, and be patient in your search Smile

Try looking at EVE University or Brave Newbies Inc. (Part of the Brave Collective Alliance).

Both have no sp requirements and are good places to start in EVE

Heh...It's my timezone. Go to bed and let me win a couple of times.

OP, there are plenty of new player friendly corps around in EVE. And even those that have 10mil SP limits, well if you show the correct attitude, they sometimes drop that requirement if they see something in you. In EVE it's more about the player behind the character then it is about the SP he has.

Go read the awesome guide that NC wrote. And do take your time to find a good corporation, hang around in public channels of corporations that you might like (even though they might not recruit you at that time, if you get to know them, they will more likely throw away any requirements) and there are plenty of public community channels you can get to know people in (Most people I know in EVE are just random guys - and girls - in channels).

Relevant. http://swiftandbitter.com/eve/wtd/eve-wtd.jpg These are just the most obvious, If you can't find anything to do in eve you are really not trying very hard.

This.

EVE doesn't hold your hand and provide you with content.

You have to go out and make your own content to do.

That's the idea behind the sandbox (go to youtube and look up the Butterfly Effect trailer).
CCP provides you with the shovel and bucket and then sends you in to make what ever you like to make.

Go scouting around. See what people are doing. Check info on people who are doing something that looks interesting - often they'll have contact information, and they may be actively recruiting.

When I came back into the game, I was a bit bored doing solo industry. Then a mining op rolled in on top of the belt I was drilling, and their info screens showed they were recruiting. I convo'd, and was a member in good standing within an hour. And then I started to learn how different it is to play the game when you've got someone helping you out, showing you the ropes, covering your six.

Also, the newbie-friendly corps - Brave Newbies, Red vs Blue, EVE University, et cetera - also will probably have connections to organizations that will likely be happy to take you under their wing.

Did actually do that, spent quite some time trying to tie down some ship locations in the Maila system near a jumpgate. Spend a lot of time using D-scan and probes.

Looked like a frigate and a jump freighter left in space around a tower. However when I warped in to investigate further I found them protected by a shield and several gun turrets. Had to run at that point.

Annoying

That was a POS.
Maila is a null-sec staging point for some regions.

But that is not what he means, he means, stop playing EVE as a single player game and go out and socialize with other players. If you like mining, try to find fellow miners that are part of a mining corp. If you like to run missions, try to find corporations that have mission runners. If you like to PvP, go out and fight people, likely if you show good quality they migh even try to recruit you.

Yes, as a matter of fact. That's basically how I started with my corp. You'll discover that attitude is a key factor in acceptance.

Eve rewards people who do their own thing. It rewards proactivity and originality. Doing what everybody else is doing only results in competition. You really need to forget the standard MMO mindset if you want to succeed in this game. I am a fairly new player as well and I have managed to make a small fortune (enough to fund my subscription with PLEX) trading on the market on a character with less than 2 mill SP, but only because it is something I enjoy and therefore was willing to put effort into researching.

Forget what everybody else is saying. Find what you like doing, and stick to it. EVE is diverse enough that you can find success doing almost anything (aside from being a Jita "escort"...). Heck, if you were able to come up with a clever scam nobody else has done before, you could make billions.

If proactivity isn't something you are looking for in your games, and if you prefer a more structured experience, then you should find another game. There are plenty of other MMOs that would cater to your needs.

There's absolutely no shame in that. We play games for fun, and if ultimately you aren't finding something enjoyable, it's best to look elsewhere.

Ever concidered to go to faction war? You will get loyalty points for surviving as long as you can in enemy territory and then you can make money buying faction stuff cheap and selling high.

This exactly.

To be honest I could take you into my corp and show you how L4s look like or how to derp terrible in lowsec pvp but that aura of helplessness surrounding you and hints of entitlement in between lines of your posts...

Train up and do incursions. They are easy, fun, have a strong community, and you make very decent isk doing them.

There are shield and armor fleet channels you can join. They will teach you how to fit your ship and get the ball rolling.

I was there when some of my friends have discovered POS towers / POS bubbles for the first time. Most of them said loudly "wow!". They were full of excitement later when we did something as simple as erecting our own space structures. And then they went all over the systems and tried to discover another POSes, some of them has been almost killed, and their reaction was "lol that was fun!"

I'm trying to imagine you in real life, and I see a meadow full of flowers, with waterfall nearby, birds singing, maybe with a vulcan somewhere far on the horizon to make it a bit adventurous. And you , wandering around aimlessly, with an expressions of total boredom in the middle of so many miracles.

You are still trying to play a sandbox as a themepark game. What should I do? Where should I go? Point me to the fun! Where are questionmarks over the heads of NPCs? Where is my instant fun?
There is none. This is sandbox. It's YOU who creates the contents, not developers. There are no pre-built sand castles you can't touch or change, the only sand castle around is that empty place in front of you. You keep asking: but what to build there, and how? And my answer is: I don't know. It's your castle. You can build a simple hole in a wet sand. You can build 2m tall awesome sand statue. But keep in mind: in a sandbox, anything is better than the empty place. You see a useless sand, I see a building material. You see a piece of plastics, I see a spade or other tool I can use to build my castle of dreams. Even if it's often just that hole.
Start building, or try other place. Not every child loves sandbox.

Yes, and my corp flies only frigates too. You just need to look a bit, EVE is more about finding a corp/group of people you like to play with than anything else.

PM me if you're interested in some fun frig PvP and FW - free tech 1 frigs too helps newer player's wallets as they come up to speed.

You should proablly just unsub right now and save your money for some other MMO. Unbelieveable the mass exodus from wow has created a steady flow of these crap posts. CCP should implement some sort of screening process before somebody downlaods eve.
