Low-sec PVP. What is wrong with it?

The path that CCP want us to follow is high-sec>low-sec>null-sec in challenge projection and objetive making for the individual player. However, usually people follow the path of high-sec>null-sec>low-sec and only because they grow bored of null.

Still, i hear people complaining about low-sec PVP and how it is broken. From what i know of low-sec, it is supposed to be the paradise for solo and small-gang pvp.

What is wrong with it, and how do you think it can be fixed?

There is very little reason to go into lowsec for the average player. The only reasons I live in lowsec is for exploration and peace and quiet.

So you end up with max skill point cruiser/hac/battlecruiser gangs who flat out have you beat on paper. Sure you can give em a run for their money with the right fleet.... but whats the point if theres no reason to go into lowsec in the first place.

Nothing much wrong with Low Sec, FW needs some changing but Low sec is somewhere you can pretty much always find your death.

Don't ask about Italics, just tilt your head.

Low sec PvP is basically pirates vs carebears

for pirates its delicious collection of tears

for carebears there is no reason whatsoever to ever engage in PvP in low sec since there is nothing to gain.

+ofc. time to time null sec alliances tweaking the reaction market by shooting up POSes but thats about it.

Once the FW will have some significant impact on the empire space / both high and low sec. We could probably see more meaningfull actions.. Altho meanings are just those which we create.

This is completely true, theres alot of delicious tears to be collected killing missioners in low-sec.

On the subject of solo or small gang PVP, i was thinking why doesn't CCP gives us the tools to create our own tournaments, like the Alliance Tournament.

Obvioulsy something like that can be done by a dedicated alliance or corp, like RvB. But a proper in-game mechanic would attract a lot more people than simply asking everyone involved to trust the other players not to screw them over, or not to break the match rules.
