Do you called your eve O corp/alliance mate their in game name or RL name when meeting in RL?

met few months ago in RL with my corp - even though introduce our self on first name basis - still call each other with in game name

i wonder how many of you called your corpmate with in game name in RL gathering (assuming they are not RL friend to begin with that plays eve)

most of my corp and corp friends know my name but, yeah, they pretty much still just call me "eury" or "eevee."

I go back and forth when i was with my corp members i met. When their friends were around, their real names. With just us, In Game names.

I got my nickname NightCrawler when i was about...16 or so, and ended up using that in real life. The only people that use my real name is close family.

Since i met my better half in EVE i got to know him by his in-game name, and since i have a lot of issues with J's in english i still use his in-game name in real life. Granted because of my accent i cant pronounce that properly either but oh well, both him and his family has gotten used to it Lol

As nobody I've met in EVE can even pronounce my name properly...I rather have that they stick to my character name(s).

Hell. Even half of my real life friends dont use my real name but call me by my nickname. And I usually respond quicker to my nickname then to my real name.

My name is so short that its easier to call me by my real name.

Some people tried giving me nicknames, they either didn't stick because they were longer or they were one letter long.

Most my corp friends know my rl name but still call me Kim. Even in other games or on facebook they still refer to me as Kim. Least it's not a bad name, i guess it could be worse :P

It is very random what ppl call me. I have all sorts of strange pet names, so I just respond to pretty much anything that is related to me.

For MMO games, I have never been called my real name, and only few gets to know it.

I only know 2 Eve players IRL, and we know us since long before Eve.

Would be kind of weird if we suddenly started to call each other after some videogame characters. Straight

Calling your husband by his in-game name-- that's awesome!

My corp has some kind of taboo against knowing each other's real names or occupations. It's an unspoken rule that was more or less set by our CEO, just from the way he interacts in chat. In fact, I've co-led clans and corps with the guy for over three years now, from another MMO and EVE, and I still don't even know what U.S. state he lives in. From doing corp ops, I do know he's somewhere in CST timezone. Interesting how one person in a position of pixels authority can set the unspoken standards for the whole group.

Next Master's degree thesis guy doing a survey ought to ask this question. "Do you know your corp mates' real names?" Kind of an interesting online sociology question.
