Deal with it nerd.
Something only a nerd would say.

As far as the forum's hand in all this was concerned, and I've ranted about this for a few years, the inability of people to let the game stay in the sandbox, and to deal with one another in this community venue has made input from this venue, and most of the opinions found in it suspect at best. Another down side is the vitriolic nature of the obvious anti-social community members (more oxymoronic than "military intelligence, eh?) discourages the more reticent, and insults the more intelligent to the point that they either a. don't even bother reading the forums anymore, or b. don't bother to post preferring a sense of dignity to diving into a mud pit.

A lot of viewpoints I've not considered have been aired in this thread, and I thank you folks for chiming in on this subject. I think the discourse here has been considerably more civil, but for the random %^*$*#, but they're everywhere anyway, and have to be filtered through (or else they'll get their way...which I'm certain they aren't quite sure what that is.)

I firmly believe the contract I have with EVE assigns to them the role of devising the game. I've never been comfortable with player input, as it's always either short-sighted, or myopic. Every game I've played has an army of geniuses who always "suggest" their "way" of making the game "perfect." (Oddly enough, ask them where to download this perfect game they've developed and you get a big 0.) Such is especially the case here, which makes it more incumbent upon the management to have a plan, and to stick to their plan.

Bug reporting's cool. Roger that. "Here's my idea on how to improve the game..." uncool. (They should stop allowing the asylums access to the internet.) I'm paying CCP for the privilege of being confounded by their developers. I'm not paying them to implement the inspired extremes of players who've learned to be vocal in 'the community' (the way my dog has learned to con my gf into throwing him raw steak.)

I don't mind CCP making a few mistakes as they unfold their vision of what a great game is. And, I can't abide disloyalty, so the big shots who cancelled their accounts we can do without...new players are always coming along. Those seats are easily filled. Good riddance.

So my plea to CCP is: See it, then do it. It's your game, and your fortune to be won or lost. You've been over the top impressive so far, all things considered. There's no rational reason to assume this won't continue. My admonition to the rational, sane and dignified players is: Hang in there. Water seeks its own level. The sediment soon lies at the bottom where it belongs.

As for the IHI? Heh. I wouldn't dignify them with a response.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.
