So much this. It's the easy solution.

Some BS might switch to him if they see him as a better target so a flimsy all gank BC could get popped fast.

the only thing I've seen has been respawns will target my alt (sentry domi), and then shortly switch over to me (ganky pirate battleship). in general they don't even break through my alt's shields. oh and gone berserk went after my alt and just stayed on him.

that said I'd bet the OP's ship does less dps than me, and his friend will be doing far less dps than my alt. So they won't be doing enough dps to not care (but hey that will come soon™). but for the most part I'd guess npcs would go after the CNR. I'd just make sure the buddy keeps his speed up.

If he has to come in a full tank setup he wont really be killing anything there so its a bit meh... I have a CNR and I can easily do all the dps needed, but it would be nice if he could kill the cruisers at least that are hardest to kill for me.
