That's what you get on streaming sites like Vimeo and Youtube.

Whatever it is, I can barely understand you at all. Better get it sorted out before you put more time into additional stuff.

I didn't want to admit this, but it is possibly just how I speak. So it's possible this problem can't be fixed. (I am not using it as an excuse to not do anything, but I'm just saying it's possible. I am going to do what I can to fix the problem, but we shouldn't ignore that)

You ain't trying to help anyone you're trying to recruit for your pisspoor corp and get people to email questions so you have someone to talk to.

You're honestly asking us to dissect the mind of a YouTube troll. There are certain spaces in reality I wouldn't even consider as space for a prison, let alone recommend walking through.

Plus, the guy whose reply you left intact in that video? I was about to recommend looking at his channel history when I took a look at it myself. Two words in, I needed aspirin and about five drinks just to get rid of the stupid. tl;dr, cleaned up for sanity's sake: 'every game that isn't WoW is a waste of time, and this is coming from a 45-year-old that's been married for 35 years'.

Adding note to explore the link between YouTube trolling and general brain damage.

Obviously you're a troll. But, if anyone does think I want to start a corp with them, would be dead wrong. I never said anything about anyone joining my corp or a corp. I did however talk about if someone joins "a" corp. "A" meaning any. (I talked about it when I was talking about most corps don't use EVE Voice. I also think I talked about it somewhere else.)

Now I will show people how to make a corp. Meaning, their own corp. I am also going to show people how to join a corp. While I will use mine (maybe), that doesn't mean I want them to join it. I just want everyone to know how to do something.

The only reason why I tell people to e-mail me in the game or out is so they can get an answer on something I might of left out on MY guide. Also, so they don't leave because they can't find the answer.

Now, the original question to this thread is why does trolls attack someone if they try to help other EVE players. Especially the new ones. So far the only answer I got was it's most likely because they are bullies, they don't want this game to go far and have new players join, and no one knows. (There could've been 1 or 2 other things)

This isn't the first, and most likely not the last. But, the trolling I am talking about is both in and out of YouTube.
BTW, I think all the trolls that trolled my YouTube EVE guides didn't have any videos, and most of them didn't have pictures. Some didn't have any activity, or it was hidden.

I'm just trying to figure out why don't they want anyone to help new players.

Anyways, thanks for looking into this. Same goes with everyone else that looked into this and gave their answers.

If you think you're doing something good for new players and older ones with your videos just don't give a f_ck about trolls and let them be.

Now if you're trying to do something for new layers and you're doing it wrong while claiming everyone else is a troll because they laugh at the unconsciousness level of your own incompetence, then YOU are doing it wrong and should not even post.

Don't worry about my words or meanings, I know how easy it is to learn basic stuff to newbs or even vets but also how hard it is to make those accept it's just that easy and that simple, often people refer to their own experiences to catalog videos and stuff, many of those video makers will never tell you they have OGB's and officer/Faction fitted ships because they want you to admire their faceless internet anonymity to actually think they exist somewhere in this world.

Don't be a faceless anonymous internet nerd like thousands of them out there, be you and if you think what you're doing it's right then all of those watching your videos and actually profiting of your advices will recognize you as a good guy, leave pawns and stupid where they deserve to be: anonymity

Maybe it's because your videos suck?

Try the following:

Move the mic away from your mouth breathing.

Learn English?

Learn to make/edit/upload videos (your sound, quality and overall boreing nature)

And finally, post your sucky videos in My Eve forum where it belongs.

I suggest you play a more active roll helping new players. Perhaps a website and some giveaways. Perhaps you could make a training corp. Now maybe you're already doing these things, I don't know. Here's an example where the trolls come out in force against me trying to help a new person:

For some reason, I've been having problems with trolls showing up to my videos. Now I have a lot of videos. Videos on reviews, helping people with computer problems, and so on. But, the one thing that seems to attract trolls is my videos where I'm making a guide for EVE. More than not, there is more trolls that show up on the videos where I help new players.

Here is a prime example. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LugAW77600s
One of the other videos I had an extreme problem with trolls is a video where I showed new players how to make an instan.

Now I don't mind trolls going to my videos. In fact, that means I get more money... I mean more views. At the end of the day, this gets me closer to investing in a better setup. Also, some trolls help out. Like, some trolls tend to say what exactly is wrong (with adding a lot of other useless crap).
However, the EVE videos have not been attracting trolls like that. They tend to attract trolls like in the link above. (BTW, look at the kids page. No videos, so this one doesn't know how it takes 2+ hours to make 1 video that's 15 or so min long. The kid lies about his age (obviously it's a guy).)

Assuming these trolls are EVE players (since it's targeted to only those videos), why do you think this is happening? Does long time EVE players want this game to die? (some people are leaving because they aren't getting any help from anyone until now (a lot of new players come up to me and they say thank you. They tell me there isn't too much out there on topics I cover)
Could it be these EVE players don't want to rely on their own skills? Like they want noobs to stay in the dark so they are basically sitting targets.

EDIT: YouTube took off his comment or he did. Check out the comment I copy and pasted from him in page 2.
Also, this question is talking about trolls on here and YouTube.

Just the fact that trolling bothers you will bring them out in greater numbers. When you respond to them then you are giving them an ENORMOUS amount of fuel for their flamethrowers. I'm afraid this post will attract many more.

There are many people that help noobs, along with helping them with videos I would suggest directing them to the rookie help channel and to corporations like Eve Uni which train noobs, and to also not be afraid to ask questions in local.. except in Jita... lol. Market hubs are prolly not a good place to ask questions. Although they may find someone who would give them a legit answer, they may not know that it is legit or if it is a scam.

Think about it. When noobs go to your videos all of those troll posts below do not affect the video and information you are giving them. Those posts will not will not effect any noob learning. IMO, you shouldn't worry about it. The noobs are getting what they need and that is what is important.

Why they troll is for different reasons and letting it get to you means that they have succeeded in their troll. So don't let it get to you, don't answer them and they have failed. Blink

p.s. I wouldn't even explain yourself to trolls in this thread either.

But don't mistake trolls for those who have advice. Even advice that may be given roughly can still be good advice.

Not sure if I can agree with your definition of trolling.
This guy was offensive, yes.
He was obnoxious.
But I wouldn't consider this inflammatory comment as trolling.

Usually, trolling is about spreading discord.
The troll tries to keep a low profile (often he even comes across as the most polite poster in the entire thread) while spreading half-truths that might eventually drive the other posters at each others throats.
Some limited amount of trolling is even healthy in my opinion, because it keeps the discussions alive and the forums busy.

Just shouting out insults like a 5 year old has nothing to do with trolling (I shall add "in my opinion"- since unfortunately, the term "trolling" isn't clearly defined anymore and is nowadays often applied to anyone who disagrees with you on the internet.)

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Eh wouldnt worry with the trolls .

Your content should be strong enough to withstand the trolling . you seem dedicated enough to withstand the abuse .

once some body watches your content you have succeeded in establishing your point of view .

these trolls can hang out under your bridge all they want but the truth is , that it is you who gets to enjoy the sunshine .

so i would not worry about em keep producing quality content, stay humble, and keep your original goals in mind.

other wise you risk poisoning your well of creativity, with the bile of those that troll you.

Having read over the thread you posted in NCQA...
There were some..rude comments yes, but you also made those posters become more hostile by trying to argue with them and then disregarding the constructive criticism they provided.

Another thing you did was trying to "call out" one of the main posters in there as a "troll" which of course will lead to issues since his posts are appreciated by many of the regular forum posters in that section, and often helpful to the new players. Sorry but people tend to defend the "regulars" if they feel the "regulars" even if the "regular" did not post as politely as they might should have.

I know it feels bad when someone trashes you down for something you did, especially when you put a lot of work into it, but honestly you will either have to deal with it or try to improve whatever they are unhappy about (if its something that you can realistically improve). Don't bother trying to argue with them, it will just make it worse. Instead say "thank you for your advice, will change/include that" or "Im sorry this is a problem but right now i cant change this". In simple words, don't give them more reasons to attack you.

With what you are doing you need some time to get used to it, and if you keep it up it will improve and eventually you will get a larger audience and people who will both find the videos helpful, and enjoy watching them.

Good luck Smile

No..no he's not. In fact he didn't even take the time to learn how auto-pilot works before posting a how-to on it in addition to knowing FOR A FACT that Concord is in some low sec systems and many more laughable "tips" for rookies.
