Wouldn't it be cool if New Eden was unfrozen.

Right now, Planets, moons, and things in orbit around planets and moons are all frozen in place.

It has been this way since EVE has existed. It's a bit eery to think that with however much happens in eve, the celestial have yet to budge one iota.

When can we expect an expansion that will bring our universe to lifeQuestion

Good god man, can you imagine trying to catch up with a station orbiting at 1,000m/s, in your freighter?

It would be like... Roll

It has been mentioned by some dev some year(s?) ago.

And while it's an awesome concept it appears to be seriously tricky to implement.

So maybe one fine day, when a lot of other (and more needed) recoding of backend systems has been done.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Worse still, imagine coming out of warp at a gate and suddenly being t-boned by a moon Lol

well you guys just made a nifty new scanner....

so i guess that would not actually be a problem.

but that would **** off alot of people who have a crap load of perch BM on every belt/stargate in 0.0...
but tbh the fact that you can have all those bm plus local makes 0.0 travel way to easy.

i say make **** orbit **** and allow your ships scanner to find where the **** is now.

OP, consider the EVE server cluster, and the ginormous effort it has just by making things work well 99% of the time, even with TiDi added (weapon's damage calculator, immense RNG stuff going on, NPC spawns, etc etc etc)

now add the need of plotting over 5000 systems worth of planets, moons, stations, stargates and belts' orbits around a star, and updating a massive database with real-time locations of said objects at the same time.

now, go and come back when you manage to program an algorithm that can do this without the need of extensive processing power.

Not our fault that CCP put the cart before the horse. Built a universe sim where celestials can't even orbit.

I, for one, can't wait for this to be implemented. I'm squirming in my seat and getting rather moist thinking about a more realistic game mechanic that for all intents and purposes I will never notice at all, since I spend my time 'warping to' and not taking celestial notes in the map viewer.

CCP's benefts, not the players

A major reason for CCP to push the CQ is because a lot of that engine is also going to be used in World of Darkness.

I think if you warp to 0 of the sun, you should fry. Of course, that is unless you're in a gate seeding ship that derives it's energy from the stars.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

You'd have to warp to the moon, the do a slingshot manouver to the gate which will then auto-jump You to the target system. If You are fast enough. Lol

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.
