I would like to thank CCP for not going with microsoft on this one. If they had gone with 360 we may have been pulled into the gaping maw that is microsoft and we would be broke. And If the DUST system, as it is, was later on XBOX ONE we would be in a world of hurt. Playstation thank you for setting the standard for appropriate gaming etiquette. CCP keep working with them and making DUST a success.

Microsoft theres a war dec comming for you.

Well, company has right to commit commercial and PR suicide. Though shareholders might object to that.

Edit: Just to make it clear: I consider Microsoft's decisions completely insane.

There are some of us who never went the console route because of the fleecing we knew it was and with the maturation of the internet, we knew it would become. And it looks like Microsoft is head of the pack on the fleecing....as usual.

So, when you read an article that says PC is dead, just know it roughly translates to, "We want computing to be like a mysterious closed appliance that only we can manipulate, not a tool that the user has any idea how it operates"

Don't ban me, bro!

I'll stick to console until they introduce DRM measure like microsoft or a constant fee for online like Sony. So basically my only option this gen is Wii U.

Kind of funny how something we took for granted on older consoles is is now a selling point feature of the newer consoles. That's progress for you.

I don't like it but i can see what they are trying to do (emulate steam). Many of the complains will be forgotten quickly when players can buy heaps of AAA games for dirt cheap during sales. Problem is Microsoft is **** poor at communicating their goals.

Lol. I have far more optimism. The XBox one is going to die with this policy hopefully, or are you one of the schmucks who is going to support and buy it?

Sony just instituted 5$ a month for online, Xbox Live has always cost money hasn't it?

Could you imagine if CCP wanted to put a camera and mic in your home that's online 24/7? That's what Microsoft wants to do and it's even scarier with the recent NSA scandal.

xbox 360 for online was 50$ for a year of gold. Also EA, Bungie, and other companies charge for online game play/ multiplayer plus DLC ( BF3, COD, and many others). A racket really. Playstation promotes free online but to get all the extra goodies you have to pay a little more. Also online multiplayer on playstation has been free (as far as I know) yet of course you have to pay for DLC. XBOX ONE holds you at gunpoint and makes you give over your wallet, house, financial records, facial recognition, children, and privacy.

Yes indeed. Which is why I didn't buy the original Xbox 360 either. I don't play the console enough to justify spending a monthly charge on it. I like the PS4 except for that fact. A lot of people are blaming Xbox live fanboys for this switch in the industry, pre Xbox live a monthly charge would have been unthinkable for playing games online. So this just shows you have to be careful as if you give these money grabbers and inch, they will try and take a mile.

I don't mine paying for extra features and such as you do with playstation plus right now. I think to charge just for a basic level of access though is a backward step.

They better hurry up porting dust to ps4. Also last I heard is that free to play titles don't require PS plus to play online, means no monthly fee.

XBone will get no such exemption.

Of course, CCP could have picked the PC to develop DUST 514 on and avoided the whole problem. I'm too young to be a bittervet already.

Has a person with 3 PS3's and 0 Xbox I have to agree. I hate microsoft, anything windows based. Even my wife's ford Sync.

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.
