I am new to this game pretty much, so I wanted to try smartbombs and turned off my security safeties. No problems because I didn't fire it.

So later I am on a long run of killing rats and salvaging them. I lock onto a wreck and accidentally hit F1 on my railguns instead of F2 on my salvager and im suddenly instasploded....

So now I am marked as a criminal and got my ship destroyed for commiting a crime against another capsuleer????? Does this make any sense at all? The pirate wreck was blue, declaimed and everything.

So you can shoot a pirate, but don't DARE shoot the pieces after he explodes because that's punishable by death.. Like come on, could this be fixed or something?

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Were you in an asteroid belt?

Yea I was in an asteroid belt, no it wasn't the smartbomb.

I fired 150mm railguns at a blue declaimed pirate wreck. I still haven't even tried smartbombs out yet.

Lesson #1: CONCORD is both stupid and lethal. It's like a blind Tyrannosaur that charges in whenever it smells blood.

If your smartbomb hit anything innocent, including an asteroid or a Large Collidable Object, CONCORD will smell blood.

If your smartbomb hit someone who noticed you were running smartbombs in high sec and decided to enter your mission in a cloaked ship and keep you at, say, 4km range, then you've attacked another player, and CONCORD will smell blood.

tl;dr: Don't use smartbombs in high sec.

He was in the National Park known as "HighSec", and the park rangers didn't like him.

If so petition

you cant hit structures, asteroids, other players, accell gates, etc etc..

so no, Smartbombs are not useful for pve on hsec, and afaik neither auto targeting missiles and ECM bursts. not just because they are crap at what they do, but also because they count as an aggressive action against most of those things.

it seems if someone clicks to abandon their wrecks concord will let you then loot them without you "agressing" the owner of the wreck so they can't shoot at you since they abandoned the wreck.

you are allowed to loot and destroy your own wrecks, so if you kill a rat you can blow up the wreck if you want

but you can't blow up an abandoned wreck.

so if me and you are in a mission or belt and you kill a rat and I kill a rat you can blow up your wreck and I can blow up my wreck no problem.

if we both abandon our wrecks so they turn blue, we can loot each other's wrecks no problem

but if you blow up an abandoned wreck that didn't originally belong to you concord blows you up.

I feel it's a bug to be honest, but a tiny one... so moral of story only blow up your own wrecks, only thing you are allowed to do with abandoned wrecks is loot them.

and of course you can salvage anyone wrecks abandoned or not since it doesn't cause aggro regardless.

They don't even have to abandon the wreck for you to salvage it.

Edit: nvmnd the guy above me said it.

Only few of us can read so bare with those that assumed you have smart bombs hence you used them.

Yes shooting a blue wreck = concord and now said player also has a killright on you.

Don't turn off safety if you're not sure of the rules.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Whatever you did, I'm sure it was naughty! When I get back into the game, I'll try to remember to put a bounty on you.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Just curious, when you offend their sensibilities by shooting at something you ought not, how long does it take Concord to drop by and waste you?

Edit: someone already beat me to it lol oh well

(Original post) Even on a blue wreck, the wreck still belongs to the original owner, it just means he's given up looting rights to everyone. Aggressing something that belongs to another capsuleer (even in its blue, given up rights, state) even accidentally, classes as agressing another capsuleer. And when in hisec, the tyrannasaurus (as someone put it) comes'a'callin'...

It's human nature to want to explore. To find your line and go beyond it. The only limit, is the one you set yourself.

…and this is why you don't turn the safety to red unless you really mean it.

Working as intended.

It actually makes sense that a blue wreck not belonging to you is concordable if you destroy it. It keeps people from taking advantage of them being now blue and shooting them while someone who decides they want them are trying to salvage and loot them.

It isn't concord's fault, it is yours for turning off your safeties and then shooting them.

When in high sec: safety first.

By the way, since we're already talking, do you want to buy a rifter? I've got the cheapest rifters in Metropolis. If you can find a cheaper rifter, buy it!

It takes seconds.........

I honestly do not get why the in game police need to be this strong. I understand if it's not absolute then groups of people could ruin it for others, but you sort of have to adapt in a game like this, maybe get another group to fight that group with.

Why are we hired to go kill pirates factions are having trouble with when concord can instagib anything and everything.
