Nope.

Source criticism is a long and well-established field; claims that there are only alts would require more proof than you can offer, and are trivially made false by every new player coming into the game.

If CCP had been serious about Odyssey being an exploration based release, then EVERTHING in the game would have become an anom that has to be scanned, and appears in randomized locations, and is depletable.

That includes moon-goo.

Further, NOTHING would show up on an auto-scan when you jump into a system.
You would have to actually do some work, in each and every case, and some modicum of in-game and behind the keyboard skills would be required.

If everything from high sec asteroid belts to moon-goo had to be scanned down, and if the belts could jump around anywhere within a region (not a system), once depleted, THEN you would have a real exploration based release.

But instead we get a system that caters to the people with ADD, and of course, above all else, preserves the null sec cartels' income streams.

HA - You know, the funny thing is that once I heard the news and read the reason for the trip down to Fountain, I had the same thought. What are the chances the moons we now need are in TEST space. I have no evidence at all whatsoever, but it seems all too interesting NOT to have at least a thought of CCP having a bit of fun here.

And if so, why not.

It is brilliant it it was planned, knowing the nature of the two alliances would lead to an inevitable confrontation. If they did do anything, I thank them for what is already some good good fun.

I don't know what this means exactly. The only thing that preserves null sec cartel income is nullsec cartel tenacity.
We work for our food fine sir.

Not really - visual perception is a part of my RL profession.

The difference is that I'm not an alt.

So… red = ~700nm.

Still don't understand how this being an NPC alt somehow alters the underlying players knowledge of things.
It doesn't. It suggests that you have no insight, and puts you on the back foot from the get-go in terms of making claims that would be better served by using a character that's known to be there.

Centrality, bias, dependency — they're pretty standard criteria for source criticism, you know…

OK OK - I all take you 700nm
1 of 3 - 33.33% accuracy

You are still full of crap on the other two.

33.33recurring%

Too bad we don't have to post with our photos and (pen) names on the interwebs (Facebook etc.) like I have to for work.

So hush....you're ALL alts (alternate reality). Big smile

That said, I respect people who post with their main(s) more.

EVE Truthers best Truthers.

The amount of conspiracy nutz this game creates or maybe just attracts is astounding. Maybe it is the T20 thing that started this...

I really don't know why people bother arguing with Tippia, Even when wrong Tippia always manages to make it look like he/she has won, it's bloody annoying.

There are universal constants in this game, Chribba and his love of veldspar, GSF and their ability to part fools with their money and Tippia's annoying habit of always being right even when wrong sometimes.

Big smile

This part I have issue with. An "alt" would lend to believe you had a pilot to do the same set of actions your "main" would do, but would use it to obscure something (identity or location maybe?).

Having a "cyno alt" would be a misnomer to the fact of being called an alt even though both or all accounts could equip a cyno field therefore making that "alt" the "main" in regards to "popping" a cyno.

Same ruleset for any sort of "miner pilot" or "market pilot".

Of course, the source is skewed based on the fact people who say "forum alt" are in fact wrong since their "forum main" would be the account used specifically to post on forums, and would have 0 relevance on the account/pilot you would normally do your ingame activities.

Now, if you had 2 pilots that did the same thing (combat in this instance) but opted to use a lower sp pilot to do stuff such as FW and was specific to that task... that could be considered a "combat pilot alt" since you don't really want to risk using a 90mil sp pilot to do the exact same actions that you would use a 5mil sp pilot for.

But when you designate a pilot on your account to do a specific thing, that pilot is the main, and any other pilot on that account (or other account) would be the "alt".

Since we do not use "levels" in this game, and any pilot can learn anything and would be measured in sp.. the use of "alt" would be the same as using the term "twink" (from gaming terminology, not BDSM for those who recognize the word) in regards to it being incorrect.

Didn't really want to start an argument, but if you are going to use the word "source" I figure it would be worth mentioning.

Specifically regarding critique. =P

tl;dr
A pilot used for something different doesn't mean it is an alternate.

Except there is a difference between "conspiracy nutz" (goons hacked my computer), and actual facts like TEST having the most valuable moongoo space after patch being the main reason for this war.
CCP is trying to break the stale game, moongoo should change every month so people actually have to fight in null.
Funny how goons stale the war for a year and then are suddenly looking for "good fights" after the moongoo change.
It's obviously a coincidence, right? RollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRollRoll

Yet this thread isn't about that, it is about a conspiracy that CCP did it on purpose.

I don't think I have seen the Goons deny they want their moons or territory once. Not really seeing the conspiracy here.

"Tonight we are invading Fountain. But we are not going to bother with stating a grievance or demonizing the defender - We are doing it because we need the region and its moons for our people and our friends."

Quoted from the state of the SotG. They aren't denying they want the moons, they actually outright state thats why they are there.
