PvE dynamic and small scale group missions

Greetings,

Among all the aspects of this highly diverse game, i myself enjoy alot of my gaming time running missions in highsec. The AI changes helped a little bit to make mission running more exciting, or lets say, you have to pay more attention.

There are two main issues from my perspective with mission running:

1. If you know what you do, you can run any mission site solo and effectively.
2. All missions are well documented ruling out any surprises (besides other players trying to disturb you)

Therefore I propose to add more flavours to missions by including:

a.
more "randomness" within a missions encounters by e.g. random amount of rooms, ships, ship compositions and triggers, making a mission not that predictably.

b.
adding a new sort of group missions (for all levels) for small groups where you definitely need a group with different ship composition furthering the teamplay on a small scale, which is from my point missing group content. (of course you can run current missions in groups but its not required to complete missions successfully)

Giving an example:

"Attack a secret hideout of the Gueristas in the asteroid belt XXX. Prevent the leaders from escaping and destroy, if necessary their forces. Be alert a renegade battleship of a marauder class seems to be supporting the pirates."

Lets say that a small station with a few cruisers and elite firgates and defence towers is guarding the station. When the players arrive a distress signal is sent out to the marauder class battleship which arrives 2 minutes later. During that time the players need to destroy as many defenders as possibly otherwise the damage from the defenders and the marauder would seriously destroy a singel player. Lets say the pirates have 10 realy tough frigates that can harass a singel battleship quite well combined with the towers, cruisers and time delaying ewar. Any smaller sized ship would be webbed and shot into oblivion. A group composition for dealing with that encounter could be 2 ships. A battleship for dealing with the station towers and cruisers and a destroyer or assault frigate for dealing with the elite frigs. Once the marauder battleship arrives the players need to deal with that as well. When the marauder is destroyed or the players manage to seriously damage the station before that, the leaders jump into their own escape ships which need to be tackled within 30 sec before they leave the asteroids for safe warp off.

My 4 cents

I do agree the mission system needs an overhaul. However; I feel like what you're asking for is more in-line with incursions.

for your option B, in empire has to deal with older players who would farm these.

I for example would have no issues running 2 accounts both running tengu's, set them to orbit each other and its feed the targets as stuff dies off. Lots of other fun comobs besides this ofc.

I walk away richer (all players involved are me, double the pleasure, double the pay).

I am of course assuming you are boosting mission pay so the frig/cruiser killer gets paid well. Because if not, this in game already. With rat AI hiting drones your smaller ship pilot killing cruisers and frigs should be able to find a BS pilot to pair up with to not sacrifice the occasional drone to the pve gods. As we know however this jsut splits up current payout so our BS pilot jsut suffers longer drone trainings (assuming non-drone/sentry pve) to solo this stuff.

This is why ccp gave incursions and let them in empire. They are dual boxer proof.

Or like Danika said....level 5's. I lack the dual box mastery to fend off harder rats, neut towers and deal any new "friends" who happen to stumble upon me in the middle of a mission. this is why they were pulled from empire. They are multiplayer needed to run. The problem was lots of dual box combo's ran these like a hot knife through butter. So off to low sec they went . Pirates added a real degree of difficulty. You want mixed fleets...well then run some pvp spec ships to pop pirates and protect the bears lol.
