Launcher does not resume patching if interrupted

I've had to restart my computer to regain connection to the internet after waiting for a of couple hours worth of patch files to download and with not 10mins left to go, I start up the launcher and it wants to download every damn file again? Is there not a better way? I'm sure I've seen many launchers that recognise your having already downloaded content and will resume from where you left off. It's fairly frustrating otherwise. I think I'll go use the offline launcher.
