Do any of you ever get an honest 1v1 or do the fights usually involve command ship alts, neutral remote repair help or other shenanigans?

It really looks like one or both parties will involve neutral remote repair or command ship alts or even corp mates in every single instance.

Any experience to the contrary?

Is the only lesson to be learned that you must out-shenanigan your opponent as opposed to simply being the better trained and higher skilled pilot?

Get out of high-sec?

Being better trained, or having more skillpoints actually means nothing.
I second what Mfume said. You seem new.

Not new.

Curious about the experiences of those that engage in this sort of PvP.

I love lowsec and my main(s) inhabit lowsec almost exclusively.

honor and fairness are overrated and have no place here.

Good day:

One time I tried to do a 1v1 in Rens, and the Rifter pilot had a neutral guardian alt that remote repped him; I lost.

When I asked why; he replied he wanted to win.

Lesson learned / reinforced.

Thank you.

Never do a 1vs1 outside a station unless you plan to cheat more than your opponent.

Have a look at this article for how to force a fair 1vs1: http://www.eveproguides.com/the-1vs1/#more-412

Did a 1 vs1 rifter fight outside a station once (a long long time ago). Mutual agreement was we would use t1 stuff (I was a n00b). I died. So I asked for a rematch. I refitted and won. Some random dude from the same startercorp looted the other guys wreck and went all emo. Turns out my opponent had a full t2 & faction fit. The random dude stole all his stuff out of spite haha.
The "cheater" didn't use alts, reppers or stuff like that tho.

A remotely repped Rifter? My God! Sad bastard of the day award goes to - that guy.

To the OP: Go to low-sec. Contrary to popular opinion, there are plenty of honourable pilots in low-sec. You will find honest 1 vs 1.

I don't understand what you expect to learn from high-sec station games - except he who reps hardest wins.

As to getting hotdropped - yeah it happens but it happens pretty infrequently. Bigger the blob the more chance there is. Bit like nature in that respect P

Low-sec and npc null-sec are all pretty quiet now - go for a wander. One of my alts has been in what is supposedly one of the best npc nullsec areas for a while and all I've seen is ratters. There have been a couple of small (10-20) gangs go by but its happy-clappy land out here. The ratters tend not to warp to a POS as soon as you enter so at least they're probably real people P

tl;dr - want to go try low-sec/null-sec then there has never been a better time. Go look at dotlan - its dead in npc null and lowsec.

Hasn't this been discussed like 100 times already this month? Does the search feature not work for you, OP?
