After seeing so many poor quality videos (not just for Eve) with bad sound editing and quality I decided to make a video to show just how easy it is to dramatically step up the quality of your voice over tracks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BfQwsfipGPs

You don't have to use the program I used to record if you don't want to, you can just record your VO directly in Adobe Audition and add it after the fact (it's not that hard) and follow the same steps for noise reduction.

There are more advanced (and better) techniques out there i'm sure of it but for the casuals this is a great leap forward.

Didn't really take any time to polish the tutorial as far as video editing is concerned. I recorded it all in 1 take.

Happy videoing.

EDIT: Quick follow up video to explain how to sync your audio and video tracks easier, as well as get rid of the high pitched sound that sometimes occurs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiKaBaeBb4o

Awesome tutorial.

Do you know if Fraps has the same option to split it like bandicam has? I can't find that option.

It doesn't sadly, That's the primary reason I switched to bandicam. For a while there I was going to just record with Audition separately but it would be too annoying to sync the voice over with the footage if i needed to. Bandicam records in comparable quality to fraps with much less disk usage. The trade-off, however, is that it encodes on the fly so it's much more CPU intensive.

Yeah I tried Badicam but my computer couldn't handle the added pressure, next time I upgrade my PC maybe I'll switch :-)
Thanks for the tutorial!

@ Your mail: It is normal to have audio in your video file as well as the audio tracks having files of their own. Check out part two from the OP if you are using Adobe Premiere to edit you can follow those steps, or you can mute the audio from the video track in your favorite editing program and overlay the separated audio tracks.
