Am I taking on too much?

Lately i've been doing mining misions. And I've realized that I would like to do research as well. Along with Archeology. I'll do basic combat skills for killing any rats that I need to. Nothing over level 3 if I can get away with it.

I've been playing on and off. So I know that this is a little bit of a mixed skills training setup. But does anyone think its just a bit too mich to do? Or is this what most indies do?

I have no clue at all what you're talking about. Could you please start from the top again?

This is a sandbox game, the only wrong way to do it is to make a job out of it.
Do what you think is fun, as long as it's fun. If something else seems like it'll interest you, add it to the list of things you can do when you want to do it.

This!!!

If you ever feel like you "have" to log in to do something, you are doing the wrong thing.

I decided to go that route as well early on. It's not too difficult and nice to have different options.

Jack of all trades here! I've done a bit of most everything in the game, and that is why I keep playing. If one aspect of the game gets boring (or nerfed - ha, ha), then I just switch to another. It is pretty much the whine-proof way to play, too. :)

And, don't worry about focusing the skill training thing. Distribute your attribute points more or less evenly, with perhaps a slight bias towards Int/Mem. Train just enough to enable whatever activity currently floats your boat, then start training for the next activity. Over time, you may find that certain activities are more fun for you than others, and then you can remap your attribute points and focus train the specific skills to improve your performance for those particular activities.

The goal of the game is to have fun, not to worry about skill points. Besides, if you end up playing long enough, even if your SP/hour training is not optimal, you'll eventually get all of the skills trained up to 4 or 5, anyways.

best advice I've ever heard since I have started playing in 2008 on and off. Most people complain and say that you shouldn't mix professions and all that crap. But you put a very good perspective on how to do it. Thanks and Kudos.

Was thrown off by only haveing archeology. That is part of exploration and need the scanning skills for that. Also might as well train salvage and hacking as well for that. Maybe even have a BC/cruiser for running the hi sec combat sites as well if ya want to.

Everyone bites off more then they can chew, its inevitable.
