Can we get an update of the socket issue please?

I'm having to pay attention to the world around me, and it's graphics suck.

I just curled up in a fetal position in my living room, hugged my own knees, rocked myself calm and kept repeating "CCP loves us, this I know... for the Jovian Directorate tells me so. Capsuleers to them belong... fixing our game all day long."

That moment when you realize the crazy lady with all the cats was right...

They should let newbs have like a free pass to go spectate the wars going on in null sec. Would be cool just to watch. I watched that one they had on youtube. How long you have to play to be abke to hang with the people in null sec?

Obviously $14.95 a month for 7 years does not count as VIP. One more straw on my camel's back CCP. One more. Not too many more before I have to make a decision.

Well, first of all, I see 2 possible issues...

1. You have been playing for 7 years but you are still paying month to month???? Buy a year's membership if you must pay.... clearly you will be paying next month and the following etc....

2. Why... WHY..... are you still paying to play?

in 7 YEARS.... you have not figured out how to earn enough isk to pay?

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

VIP MODE IS FOR GMs AND DEVs! They are very important because they fix problems, you are a customer and they are trying to deliver their product, kick your camel in the fork for me

I logged in on a different character and it seemed to have worked. Also I was shouting at the game "WORK OR YOU SHALL TASTE MY SISTER'S HERPES!!" Try that, in that order.

Oh the tears, the tears!

Are you Caldari? I like Caldari tears the most. They seem more rare since Odyssey.

I love the rage coming from people. Considering that most of the recent issues have been due to others attacking the CCP servers, you can't blame them for it. On top of that, considering that most actual issues with the game that cause this sort of thing are few and far between...it's kinda childish to rage just because the server is down for a little while.

Toughen up princesses, it'll be ok. Go get some sunlight, go socialise with those friends you had...you know, the ones that thought you died, since they haven't seen you in years? Yeah, them. Go do all that and stop being spoiled brats because CCP haven't fixed every minor problem with such a huge amount of programming.

Side note- For those who say they have been around a while, yet still complain, I call BS. If you've been around longer than a year, you'd know better, and wouldn't be here bitching. Unless thats all you have in life, besides playing EVE ;p

I was less than a month old before I went to nullsec and I have never really went back to highsec to live. Then again I am in CAS the most organized NPC corp in the game and that makes all the difference in the world.

To provide more incentive to fix the servers quicker...

I suggest CCP reward the dev's with free hookers for every major development in getting servers restored.

During VIP sessions, all VIP's should get serviced by the ladies a final time before the rest of us can come.

I don't really consider this as being "Server Up"

Clicking most any information field or attempting to send email just hangs and then results in Socket Closed error.

I wouldn't claim it's fixed until it's fixed.

All having instant socket loss after logging in, try restarting, it worked for me, either that or CCP fixed it while I was restarting. could be a coincidence

There was a message in the shutdown announcement saying something close to "See you again in 20 minutes". Why even put such a message in your shutdown announcement when you have no way to keep such a promise? I understand it takes time to address issues, but if you can't guarantee that the servers will be back up in 20 minutes, its best to never give that estimate in the first place.

How many times have you told someone you would be somewhere by a certain time, and failed?

How many times have you said "just a minute" and it took two.

Really, seriously, are you being a bit anal about how much time it took to fix the problem? I would prefer they get it right rather than strictly stick to a general comment meant to give a general idea of how long they thought it would take to bring the server back up.

Just calm down, Jesus, don't have a coronary over time. I am fairly certain that you must, like all people, fail to meet the general times you state when giving other people an idea of how long you will be. Chill out.

I think you read way to much into how "upset" I was about this downtime. I work for a software company in the real world, and it is bad business to make any kind of promise to customers that you can't keep, formal or informal. Your analogy about meeting a friend is irrelevant. This is business, with real money involved. My entire point was simply that if you can't keep a promise when it involves business, don't make a promise when it involves business. Why is that too much to ask for?
