You disgust me. I hate the hardcore crowd in games like this, that say "Go back to WoW", whenever you question anything about said hardcore game. It destroys a community and makes you look foolish.

These downtimes are annoying, some are over-reacting, some aren't. They aren't whining little maggots. They're paying for a service. If EVE was free, sure, they'd be whining little maggots. But they're paying good money to play. So they have the right to voice their frustration.


He said "whinging" little maggots, but I have to admit, what you said works better, all the people shedding tears about their AFK mining, their few minutes of time of lost training ques, their fear their pixels won't be there when they log back on (ships) etc, are whining little maggots. They should all take a break, get up off their milk crates they use as a desk chair, kick open the front door to their trailer and take a deep breath, I'm sure the trailer park smells wonderful this time of the day.

People do love to complain, give them anything they can sink their teeth into and they start ravenously gnashing their teeth. I can picture those people standing on their computer chair, jumping up and down, pointing at their computer screen, screaming as they rabidly froth from the mouth about their lost SP. Read the news, there are far more important things to get angry about than a few lost minutes of game time.

Remember ETA means estimated time of arrival. Keyword here is Estimated. They are Techs, not Oracles. Keep up the good work.

The 10 minutes was the ETA to downtime starting... you guys got a 10 minute countdown timer in game to get yourselves safe.

Right now, we have no ETA for uptime, we're currently working on the problems.

we all pay good money to play this game, or put in the hours to pay for it with ISK. but i agree with you the server needs to be up or down, you guys should be able to track where the DDoS attacks are coming from, associate those IPs with game accounts either through direct matchup of time and IP from service provider or through your own logs of users connecting to your servers. the 50k SP for the what was it 36 hours downtime was kind of a slap in the face i'm not going to lie, fully mapped and 5s > 150k SP gone in that time. i work from home too, i expect the servers to be down during normal service for 15-30 minutes a day, these extended downtimes from attacks needs to come to an end, block connection to the IPs causing the problem, and if they cant log into eve anymore because they were DDoSing good, lottery off the BPOs and let the space get taken

The solution is simple then. If every time you log in the servers are down, all you have to do is simply never log in. Please, do us all a favor and quit logging in and breaking EVE.
