Hi... I want to know what is the best Caldari ship for solo pvp anyone can recommend?

Also how would you fit this ship???

Having a hard time choosing ship and fittings for pvp since I have not played for 3 years.

You would get more helpful advice if you specified what class of ship you're interested in flying and your skill focus. That being said if you're just wanting to get into PvP I'd recommend a frigate as they are cheap to lose and have a wide engagement range. Here's 2 great easy to fly, reliable ships (I assume this is lowsec therefore AB, you want MWD for null sec to burn out of bubbles/get back to gates).

If you're more skilled into hybrid use this:

[Merlin, PvP]

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Micro Auxiliary Power Core II
Damage Control II

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Medium Shield Extender II

Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S
Light Neutron Blaster II, Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Core Defense Field Extender I
Small Core Defense Field Extender I

If you're more into missiles use this:
[Kestrel, PvP]

Damage Control II
Ballistic Control System II

1MN Afterburner II
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Medium Shield Extender II

Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Core Defense Field Extender I
Small Core Defense Field Extender I

If you have good skills in both I'd personally use the Merlin.

I quite like Condor brawlers right now - very easy to fit for even low skill characters, easy to fly (orbit close, overheat AB if needed, pulse tank as needed, you can perma-run the neut) and there are so many kite-fit ones out there people often come right to you.

[Condor-Brawl]

[High Slots]
Rocket Launcher II - Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II - Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Rocket Launcher II - Caldari Navy Scourge Rocket
Small Unstable Power Fluctuator I

[Med Slots]
1MN Afterburner II
Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I - Tracking Speed Disruption Script

[Low Slots]
Small Ancillary Armor Repairer - Nanite Repair Paste
Damage Control II

[Rigs]
Small Bay Loading Accelerator I
Small Warhead Calefaction Catalyst I

Be wary of other missile ships.

It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

All the three above are great and feared... especially to double damp Condor is hated by everyone (not listed above)!

Once you have made your first steps into Caldari PVP you should definatelly also try out the Caldari Navy Hookbill. 5 Medium slots give you a lot of space for e-war, tank, dual-prop... whatever you prefer most. Be creative, the Hookbill is one of the most flexible ships and you will easily find a new, useful and suprising setup.

Most important for successful PVP is (especially if you go solo):
a) You need to know exactly what your ship is capable for and what not. (Brawler, Kiter, etc.)
b) You need to know what enemy ships are enemies which allow you to use your strengths and which not. Engage solo only thise which are matching your capabilities.
c) Learn to smell the blob.
d) Luck, don't forget to pray befor you go Big smile

The problem with the Hookbill is actually getting a fight. People who are knowledgable know that a Hookbill has quite a large engagement envelope - but I do love it.

The brawler fits listed are good fits, but will die often as not to anyone who know what they are doing.

Here is a LOL fit that I have had a lot of fun with, cause its a "Wait, what th!" Heron;

[Heron, Sudden Death]
Damage Control II
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I

Upgraded 1MN Microwarpdrive I
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Medium Ancillary Shield Booster, Cap Booster 50
Thermic Dissipation Field II
Kinetic Deflection Field II

200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S
200mm AutoCannon II, Republic Fleet Phased Plasma S
Rocket Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Rocket

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Small Anti-Kinetic Screen Reinforcer I

Hobgoblin II x3
Hornet EC-300 x3

The resistances on that Heron fit (54/68/82/56) when coupled with the booster really make it shine. Relatively quick and people will just come right at it expecting, "Meh, easy Heron kill"..... LOL, suckers! Pirate

I've never seen Caldari be actually bad at solo PVP. The Drake has always been the best BC for it and I felt completely comfortable taking out 5 Ogre Nos Myrmidons back when that was all the rage. That said, my favorite Caldari solo ship is the Harpy, and my next favorite is the Condor. I've lost many of both - feel free to examine my KB losses.

Course, I assume you meant "mediocre" and not actually "medicor".

Medicor is a Cardiology group in the US ... oh, maybe you meant Heart Stopping fits!

If that's the case, I was way off .. and thanks!

Umm Did everyone forget about the Drake and the Tengu or is it just me.

The drake is one of the best PvP solo and gang ships around.

Just a though.

My vote is for the drake which is awesome

and lets not forget the TENGU!!!

The Drake is, to be sure a great ship, but I have come to prefer the speed and versatility of the Cyclone over it TBH.

The Tengu has its uses, but is pretty clostly for most players - frigs are easy and cheap ....

.... you are in RvB you know that drill!

Not too mainstream, too costly ... another big plus to the Cyclone is that it starts out 20 million less than a Drake and is a fantastic PVP ship.

I would think the Blackbird would be a great ship to float around solo with as well. The DPS isn't anything to necessarily write home about but the amount of crap you can shove in it's mid slots lets you do so much with it.
