CCP Rise, you are my only hope

Dear CCP Rise,

You have demonstrated that you are willing and able to listen to player feedback, so I am bringing this plea to you.

Target painters. Please don't ignore them anymore. Decrease cycle time and cap usage accordingly. You know, if you only have time to decrease cycle time but not cap usage, I'm ok with that too.

Also, drone ui. There are excellent drone ui proposals dating back to 2006 which would be markedly better than the current implementation. I hope you will take the time to work on that in the next expansion. If you are not the "ux" guy, at least you can try to bring this issue to the front of the backlog.

i agree with both of these points.
painters need about a 5 second cycle timer. its stupid when shooting frigs that you have to wait like 10 minutes for the painter cycle to stop before u can hit another ship.

the painter is a beautiful thing...luv it long time. just drop the timer and the cap to match..=)

drone ai needs alot of luv. a few more choices like frigs firstor anything within xx range first would be a dramatic improvement.

even a couple of selectors like

(check box below)
shoot frigs first
shoot cruisers first
shoot bs first

(insert range for sentries)
shoot anything that breaks xxx range first

focus fire


not a lot, but some changes are better than none. youve got the rats killin our dronesquite easily now..lets make the drones a lil smarter...

+1. I agree that TP cycle times are ridiculously long. Or at least bring in a Skill (OMGWTF did he just suggest!) to reduce it.

Oh and OP...love the Star Wars Jedi trick you did there! Lol

Could we also looks at reducing cpu reqs for it. Right now there are very few viable items which fit the 5-10 cpu bracket, perhaps a target painter could be one of them.

Amarr ships turned out well, so not sure the problem. CCP Rise did a good job.

I would have agreed with you until the battleship changes came along, all we wanted was better cap life. Rise and Fozzie have between them completely destroyed the flavour of the Amarr race. If I wanted to use drones I would have trained Gallente, Likewise I was happy with the old Armageddon (cap issues aside) which was one of the few hulls in the game that CCP said didn't need balancing. Now look at it, it's a bastardised ship if there ever was one with its missiles, drones and blood raider style 'energy vampire bonuses'. There's actually very little Amarr left in it.

Also who can forget 158 pages+ of concerns raised by the community in the Amarr Battleship Odyssey Thread all of which were ignored whilst Gallente players got changes within 2 hours of the Gallente Battleship Thread starting. I could add more but you probably wouldn't believe me.

Rise is not high up on my list of heroes to worship at the moment.

Ummm.... no. Our magnificent space potato was turned into some crappy PvE sentry boat farmer. And your battleships turned out just fine. You now have something that military experts refer to as "options". I realize it is quite frightening given the utter blandness of the Amarr ship line for years on end. But trust us, it's a good thing.

*shrug* Perhaps. But I think we are getting away form the point of the thread. Which was TPs and Drone UI. If you want to debate the pros and cons of Amarr vs Gallente BS fits, then there are a variety of other threads far more suited towards that. Or you could just start your own thread. I'd be happy to point out how utterly wrong that you are, but not at the expense of hijacking this one.

Fair enough, we can agree to disagree, I have used target painters and I also find their cycle time to be a bit long, but I think its done for balance reasons as all ewar modules have a cycle time of 20 seconds. If you reduce tp cycle times then ccp would probably want to reduce the cycles of ecm and sensor dampers too, even though they don't behave in a similar way to other ewar modules.

Dominix's featured quite prominently in the recent TEST/CFC battle, so I would hardly call it a crappy PvE sentry boat.

The Amarr had 150+ pages of player complaints/suggestions and got very few, if any, updates made to their BS hull proposals.

+1 for reduced TP cycle time, they're different from other EWAR modules in that their cycle time directly limits your ability to switch targets with your weapons.

I'll see what I can do about painter cycle time =)

As far as drones, we've actually been talking about it some recently. I can't get it to the front of the backlog, but I can keep it from going to the back. Everyone wants to work on drones, its just going to be a very big project and we have to figure out where it fits in to the bigger picture. I'm with you in hoping its as soon as possible.

I would also like to suggest the insane idea that I have no racial favoritism. As a player my 4 favorite ships over time were probably Stabber -> Typhoon -> Harbinger -> Armageddon -> Ferox -> Talos -> Caracal. Also I don't make design decisions based purely on personal biases. Sooo yeah.
