I was planning to remove that tooltip for some time now. Funny, but I do exactly the same thing when I am not sure who to vote for, and always vote for the avatar with higher wins count. So perhaps in the next update I'll get rid of it. Meanwhile if you spot any bugs or vulnerabilities please do mention them.

there is no way akirei and others are losing half their matches.. *sigh*

Sometimes I have those moments - "wait didn't I just vote for this avatar?!" But they were in fact two different characters.

A lot of great avatars on that site, just the luck of the draw. I'll even admit I chose a different avatar vs. you when it popped up. What?


Majority of the leading avatars are good looking as well as showing "character", a large number of the well made avatars that look nice but are boring don't seem to get votes because of the larger picture sizes used for the voting (not that I'm complaining Big smile).

Lot of new, really awesome avatars out there that I've seen on the site now that it's working, giving me some ideas for other characters!

I am surprised that it's still running 3 days later, no crashes, no cheating or hacking attempts.

Anyway, I will be pushing an update tonight that fixes minor UI glitches and I will also be removing the tooltip with Wins/Losses when you mouse over character's name. This is to remove the voting bias.

Do you have any other quick suggestions while I am at it?

It's actually mostly sebiestors that seem to be popular. I don't think the tattoo/goth look is that interesting, but then i was never into the vampire movies either, and still don't have any tats.. *sigh* Cry

Once upon a time some guy made character portrait for the original portrait games. Since there was no CQ at that time he didn't care about the fact that his character, while hot, had a fat ass and no boobies. As time passed he wanted a new character and found that it gave him the heebie jeebies to look upon the hot, fat assed character he made so long ago. So he made another one that was similar but had a decent body.

Only 14 in the top 100! As a suggestion probably more weighting on %age wins once character pass a certain threshold of wins/losses.

I agree, different strokes... The chin tattoo on women always looked a bit too much like a goatee to me, and I have not a fan of facial piercings or zombie eyes either. Maybe it is because I see this sort of thing daily on the bus (there is a guy with a big Decepticon symbol on his forehead, and almost everyone I know and live with have multiple tattoos) since I live in San Francisco.

This is all just a matter of taste of course since there are a nice mix in the top 100.

Vherokiors are really underrepresented as well.

Only 1 in top 100 and for the minmatar top 100 we are only 3 Vherokiors.

I am quite impressed with activity so far: 50,000 votes when New Eden Faces was launched, 67,000 votes after the first reset, and now we are up to 118,000 since the reset last week. All in all 235,000 votes since launch!

One thing I noticed is there are a lot of great characters with high number of wins. Everyone in top 100 has 82+ wins, and #1 as of right now has 94 wins. That's 12 point difference over 100 characters. And right now leaderboard has a few characters with the same # of wins, which makes Leaderboard position irrelevant because they are displayed in something like "first come first serve" basis.

I might take Ariel Dawn's advice and introduce a winning percentage sorting after a certain number of wins. That shouldn't mess anything up, other than change ordering of some characters in top 100.

Your website is still easily manipulated. Allowing people to vote on the same picture multiple times and to skip simply by clicking a bookmark on their browser. On top of that, there is very little diversity in the pictures of the females. But hey, it is your website...you want people to be able to stack votes...I guess that is your choice.

The top 14 haven't had any ratios that differ much from each other since the last update, so whoever is vote stacking isn't doing a very good job of it. I vote for the avatar that shows the most work: The one that has a manipulated bone structure unlike the base setting, proper lighting, and a hint of emotion, not the "pose, click, done!" types. And as far as I can tell, the top 100 deserve their spots for one reason or another - diversity or not.

Bravo on the website, I for one am addicted.
