So I'm fairly new to wh life and the way that things work inside of them.

I understand the basic mechanic of sites and that they despawn after 48-72 hours from initial warp to.

But the Warp to mechanic has been broadened a little with regards to wh's which is where my question lies

I currently reside in a c5 with a static c5 exit thats usually labeled as H296.

As its been described to me ive been told that our static works like this:

- It is a static "outgoing" WH

- So long as you dont scan the wh down to 100% or warp to it the incoming wh on the other side (example K162) will not spawn on the other side. This helps with doing Cap escalation sites. as it prevents corps in the adjacent wh from getting into your wh while your doing your cap escalation sites because the k162 wh is an "incoming" WH in this case with our static being a H296 WH.

can anyone confirm this mechanic?

because this would seem broken to me because a WH should be both "incoming" and "outgoing" and imo should spawn on both sides regardless of whether it has been scanned or warped to.

your static becomes ( spawns ) visible to the other side in the form of a k162 only when you hit the "warp to button" (robot eve girl says "warp drive active").
Until someone initiates a warp to it nothing happens.
You can probe it to 100% but if you dont want to "activate" it just dont warp to it.
Broken or not that is how god created the universe.Dont worry you will have many k162 spawning in your system from nullsec or c5-c6-c4 etc while you cap escalate and then your dreadnaught will be the only thing broken Pirate

All sigs that you probe out, even to 100% do not start their lifecycle until you initiate warp. Even if you stop your warp you've triggered the lifecycle.

With WH's, the other side doesn't open until you initiate warp. The other side is always a K162, every other designation is the originating side.
