The concept of the T3 cruiser was multirole flexibility.
However that flexibility is curtailed by the rigging mechanics.
Once rigged a T3 hull is locked into a single role, which then means it will perform poorly in other roles.
The addition of T3 rigs can give the T3 cruiser that flexibility back.

[Sleeper Components] and/or [Ancient Salvaged Materials] can be added to the manufacturing process in the bill of materials for a blueprint, to separate them from their T1 or T2 variants.

How they should impact the game.
Removable - The main benefit of these rigs
Equipped to T3 hulls only - These means only Strategic Cruisers can make use of their special benefit
Effect Bonus/Drawback - Identical to Tech 1 rigs of that type.
Calibration Cost - I'd suggest a similar level to the T2 counterpart, trading versatility for performance.

This would mean we, the players have choice, when rigging a T3 cruiser
Maximum Bonus (Use Tech 2), but hull is locked into rigged bonus
Versatility (Use Tech 3), but rig effects are reduced from a T2 option.

Comments, Suggestions or Improvements welcomed.

or you can just buy more t3 hulls like most do.

Or run t1 rigs and pull them as needed. Buy a good bp, use your salvage this can be a cheaper process.

Limiting ships to a set role is the tradeoff to rigs. Even for t1 and t2. this is why you my have noticed a 0.0 person has the ratter and the pvp bs possibly even the same hull type for both. Or they have several say of the sama hac hulls. One is rigged for range, another for dps, etc.

Or....

you can rig your t3 to be versatile. Generally resist rigs won't go to waste and mixed with a good invul/eanm/dcu can free up at least 1 racial hardener slot. CCC also never a wasted rig. Better cap never a bad thing for any t3, even loki's and tengu with capless weapons as they have thier mouths to feed as well.

Thanks for the input.

A T3 Cruiser has interchangeable components
It can fulfil a variety of roles depending on the subsystems fitted

But because of the current rigging mechanics, it flexibility is limited, as you stated 'buy multiple hulls'
An approach that defeats the flexible & interchangeable concept.

Take the Tengu as an example.
Depending on the combination of subsystems used it can perform the role of the following specialised T2 ships

Buzzard, Basilisk, Falcon, Cerberus & Nighthawk

Each role requires for the most part separate rigging options, something which is not possible with the current mechanics

If as you say the correct approach is to 'just get multiple base hulls', then surely it's more effective, using that approach, to simply get the named T2 ships in the above list instead ?

T2 ships have fixed roles, so a single rigging solution is all they need
The Strategic Cruiser, does not have a fixed role, and therefore it requires more than a single rigging solution.

Interchangeable subsystems do not follow the standard T1 -> T2 progression on ship roles
Interchangeable Subsystems change the role of the hull they are attached to

Looks solid to me really. Versatility and cost vs specific performance. What's not to like about it?

while (CurrentSelectedTarget.Status == ShipStatus.Alive) {

     _myShip.FireAllGuns(CurrentSelectedTarget);

}
