Proteus is left out because its DPS is pitiful with rails fitted for ratting. Blasters simply dont work for lazy bears because it means you actually have to do work and boat around to rats. Proteus is widely used for PVP however due to strong tanks and large DPS from blasters.

Yes, because being able to make isk is something noone is expected to do. Just whip out that CC for everything and turn your $180/year game into a $10,000/year game.

The proteus's dps/range issue is so acute that it's not even a matter of "working" or "boating around". You're demonstrating your complete lack of experience in the matter.

In a C2 you have to boat around but, could complete the site in the same or slightly more time in a drake.

In a C3 webbing and neuting is significantly more so that you're fighting cap issues and warping out of the site so often trying to find the right warp in point to the site to get that 5km optimal range to sleepers that your time to complete those sites makes your effective per hour income somewhere around a noob's on a trial account all while in a expensive ship. It's basically a short-sighted brick here.

In a C4, cap issues aside, how are you going to get those guns across that 100km spawn range when you're webbed and scrammed? How are you going to survived being hit by those BS torps while microwarping? And now, cap issues considered, how are you going to do any of this when you have no cap? No cap, no boom boom, tank or mwd.

The Proteus is by far the worst ships for w-space pve. And when recruiting, your first priority is always "How will your noobs support their gameplay?"

hear, hear! all the 1337 pvp'ers forget that you will not get far in w-space if your only income is PI.

I should buy an Ishtar.

EO board is so funny. 1/2 the posts about T3 say they are OP and the other 1/2 about T3 say they are underpowered/overpriced. Some of the T3 posts say the Tengu sucks but just as many say it is awesome. Some of the T3 posts state the Legion sucks but just as many say it is awesome. Some of the T3 posts complain the Proteus sucks while the same number say it is awesome. Loki.. not talked about so much. Seems T3 are pretty much ok overall with some being good at some things and not so much at others.

Proteus kicks butt in PVP. PVE? Not so much. There's no problem here. I fly a Proteus but not for PVE. Use a different ship and your problem is fixed. Can't do everything <> ship sucks (the <> means not equal to).

Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate.

In other news, corps that hate the Proteus also hate PVP.

This forum is broken. I cannot like your reference to a great short story more than once.

Also of course ratters and whatnot don't use the proteus. It's a glorious PvP boat (probably top 3 buffer tanks out there, sub-cap) with good deeps. A few times I've gone solo against 2-3 other ships and come out with a couple kills and no loss, with my cloaky proty. The non-cloaky version has also the good tank and massive deeps for a cruiser, with the right subsystems and fit.

I find it hilarious you found a SINGLE sentence so offensive about lazy bears, you had to write 40 times as many in response.

Half the posts say T3's are underpowered? Are you using the same EO forum that I am?

The only people I hear saying this are the mission runners who hated the Tengu heavy missile nerf.

HAMgus can kick out ~1k DPS in PvE fits. Yeah sorry, that class of DPS should really be for Battleships.

The reality is the missile nerf didn't change anything for PVE. It's the PVP'rs who should have hated it.

Only faction fitted multiple bilions of isk tengu's but not the rehular ones, besides battleships are useless in w-space because yu can't fit many through a hole.
Using t1/t2 would only mean more blob for the same amount of dps, and we got cap escalations to kill them farmers must be contained... .
Besides t3's are not overpowered you guys just never compare them properly, try comapring them with just t2 fitings and it stats are the same of any T2 ship.
Comparing T2 ships with faction fitted T3 ships is just not doing the math correctly.

No local in null sec would fix everything!
