False logic. Minmatar allied with Gallente but has no dedicated drone hulls at all but has whole line of missile ships.

Caldari: missiles + hybrids
Gallente: hybrids + drones
Amarr: lazors + drones
Matar: projectiles + missiles
I think there is no need for 3rd weapon platform in any given race (aside from some oddballs like bombers)

Frankly there are three weapon lines for Amarr ships. But they are have few limitations
Lasers the main weapon, meantime lasers have fixed damage types.
Drones are limited, Galente better for sure
Missiles limited to close range missiles and to the t2 black hulls only.
I don't think that good point entirely

we've had numerous discussions on this topic.

we need a t2 "hac style" bs.

in the amarr side of things, the discussion was that the abaddon becamse the t2 "big" hac which would be the step up from the sac. the geddon would be the step up from the zealot.

post odyssey changes mean that the geddon no longer gets the rof bonus from lazors so it would be weird. i already dislike the progression ccp has atm. the geddon goes from 5 guns/torps and drones to 7 guns in the navy geddon. dont get me wrong, i think the new geddon is about to come into its own for pvp gate camps or pos sieging (imagine 25 geddons with sentries).

the abaddon already has the resist bonuses that the maller gets, it (was) the top of the line bs, therefore it should follow the sac in progression and become a nasty torp boat brawler.

since the apoc has the range bonus and its lazors, it could be the zealot upgrade.

i only see this happening tho if they decide that marauders are the "t2 bs hacs" and just add 1 more to complete the lineage progression from frig to bs.

the paladin becomes the big zealot, the abaddon becomes the new torp boat.

it would have 6 launchers with a 5% ROF and 5% damage bonus, cap bonus, resist bonus...or whatever they change the new hac bonuses too, this line should carry it up 1 more notch.
plus, the 50% reduction in MWD sig radius. to me, we can forgo this bonus because which is easier to hit, a barn or a barn painted with a bullseye? either way, with a 500m sig radius before...yer not going to miss either way. change it to a 5% reduction in sig size per marauder level or something...

hell, even dreds have fun with paladins..=)

of course, gallente would get their kronos upgraded to a deimos version and the domi could be the ishtar.
minie would have the vargur be the vaggy and the maelstrom be the muninn
the caldari would have the golem step up into the cerb role and the rohk be the eagle.

would be interesting. the marauder skill would cover the bs hac line. you could just leave it marauder in reference to the bs hac, or change it to something inline with the others (assault ship, heavy assault ship, massive assault ship...whatever).
i prefer just leaving the name as marauder. either way, i hope it comes to pass, because i LOVE my sac and use it as bait against almost everything...=) cant imagine the fun i would have with a t2 adabbon torp boat.
instead of the MWD bonus, give it an explosion velocity and explosion radius bonus. make it like the new phoon or something.

A second Marauder for each race that is more PvP focused would be cool. Give everyone the 4% Resist bonus to offset the Rep bonus on all of the PvE focused hulls. Amarr would get a Khanid themed Abbadon. Caldari get a beefed up Rokh. Not sure what weapons you would use for the Hyperion/Maelstrom hulls but I am sure something could be worked out.

Actually they typically have one generic missile rate of fire bonus, one unguided specific damage bonus, a resistance bonus, and a capacitor related bonus. Typically.

The whole reason that there is a missile/armour group is because Khanid were a bunch of heretic Amarr guys who broke off, and studied with the Caldari and absorbed their tech, then split off and became their own group called the Khanid and started making ships. My grasp of the lore is kinda weak, but it's something along those lines, so this actually makes sense. Because Lore.

Except this actually makes sense as far as *at least* at Tech 2 ship. The Khanid philosophy involves armour and missiles. They were bastard children of the Amarr and Caldari.

Khanid ships (Amarr T2 manufacturer) with missile bonuses include the following:
Frigate:
Vengeance
Malediction
Anathema

Destroyer:
Heretic

Cruiser:
Sacrilege

Battlecruiser:
Damnation


And in addition to all those, the Curse (a Khanid ship) has missile slots that nobody uses in lieu of neutralisers, and the Legion has a HAM subsystem (Assault Configuration).

So as far as a far-fetched T2 Rokh with lasers, for example? Makes no sense whatsoever, unlike the Amarr T2 which has an entire manufacturer dedicated to the missiles/armour configuration.

what i would like to see is the curse being bonused for missiles and setup much like blood raider ships are..

Curse
5-4-6 (2 Launchers)

7.5% Tracking disruptor
10% drone HP/damage

Recon skill
40% Neut/Vamp amount and range
10% missile damage

now granted this adds to its neuting strength but with careful power-grid management CCP could easily make it very difficult to fit more than 3 medium neuts thus making it a 3-2 ratio of neuts to HAMS and 800mmplate.

Or alternate style could be remove drone bonus and specialty after-all aren't khanid meant to be about missiles?
since amarr don't have a drone manufacturer anyway they could just swap drone bonus to missile damage bonus it would have to be stronger though and maybe switch a low to high for another launcher.
And keep pilgrim as the droneboat instead.

'Tech3 ships need to be put down, like a rabid dog drooling everywhere in the house, they are out of line' CCP Ytterbium Nerf missile range into place where is the TD missile change?  ..projectiles should use capacitor. ABC's should be T2 HABC and nerf web strength its still too high
