Would you except ads in the EVE Launcher, if it meant CCP would use it to improve your experience?

Actually, with a big change, the OP's idea has merit:

Player run adds. Pay with PLEX/AUR and advertise your corp/alliance/business or service in the launcher. Maybe set limits on how often someone can advertise so that it's not just the big corps all the time. =)

I wouldn't protest, but CCP already makes enough money off of us already. Now they just need to learn how to use it better. Thinking that just because CCP gets more revenue means better content for Eve isn't correct. It actually seems that as CCP has gotten bigger there focus on Eve has gone downhill.

Yes, provided they are relevant to Eve .. since nothing outside of Eve is relevant to Eve any such ads would have to be from in-game corps/alliances. Essentially mimicking the player ads run during tournaments.

Expand to include/allow propaganda, proper stuff and not random smear campaigns, and the launcher truly becomes the first stop in the ve experience.

I've been going to fairly extreme lengths to block any and all advertising in my browser and open source tools I use. I would NOT appreciate ads in the launcher.

By all means, i agree. but if CCP needed to make higher revenue for some weird reason, would you rather have them charge you?

I already am paying for 2 subs, and CCP is making a profit, so I think the point is moot.

Furthermore, forcing me to pay for NOT seeing commercials in a product I pay for... I'm not 100% certain, but I think that might just be illegal, it might even be considered blackmail.

If the game were F2P, and the ads would be part of their new funding plan, that would be a different matter. But then, I would refuse to play it. Especially since the statistics for F2P games indicate that the revenue streams from in game stores already are way higher than what's needed to keep the servers running. More would just be greedy.

Thing is, I'm completely and utterly allergic to any and all advertising. Comes from having e-mail from way before there were decent filters (or even GUI based internet). After being bombarded with literally over 100 spam mails a day for many, many months, I started to boycot any company that sent me unsolicited mail. And the day they made sending spam illegal in my country, I started reporting the lot of them to the relevant authorities. And no, I don't really watch TV cause (you might have guessed this) I really really really cannot stand the commercial blocks.

I assume the point in said advertisements would be so CCP could raise some extra cash?

Why not just bring back Quafe? I'd buy crate of the stuff ........if they came with ingame codes for special edition iteronsPirate
