Looking for a torpedo fit typhoon fleet issue I could use for lvl 4s and anom ratting.

I usually fight angels, which puts the armor tank at disadvantage. Although my armor tanking skills are better then shield tanking. Can use t2 Torp launchers/all t2 mods. If you wanna throw some faction mods on it I'm interested in that also.

So x those fits up, torpedos armor or shield tanked phoon. Whatcha got for me?

At this point, cruise > torp 95% of the time, especially on anything but a golem. As for armor vs shield, IMO shielding the fleet photon is the only way to go

Figured as much, however I'm looking to make a torp fit. Any shield fits you could post would be appreciated

At work, but:

DMG in highs
Booster, resists, and a painter in mids.
DMG in lows

Fitting reqs of torps will ruin you.

As of now, I threw this together- need some feedback

6 x T2 Torp launcher
1x Probe launcher

3 x named TP
1x Afterburner 100mn named
1x Heavy Cap booster named

3x BCU named
1x LAR named
2x Explosive Hardener II
1x Kinetic Hardener II

Rigs-
1 large anti kinetic pump
1 large anti explosive pump
1 large Auxiliary nano pump

Med/Light drones t2 (sentries/heavies also if can use)

This has been doing really well vs angels. Can switch hardeners depending on missions. Tight fit requires named mods.

Feedback definitely welcome!

when I was messing around in EFT with a torpedo scorpion the DPS was terrible against cruiser size ships. Maybe I was doing something wrong but 1500dps became like 70dps against a stationary tengu which I basically attributed to signature size vs explosion radius.

I even had a explosion radius reducing rig. I dont see anything like that on your build. How are you killing ships smaller than BS with torpedoes?

and why are cruise misiles better than torpedoes now?

Been popping frigs just fine. Target pain em and shoot. I probably need an explosion radius rig, and I might consider putting a web with 2 tps instead of 3tps.

If you were killing a Tengu that means you were doing pvp, which would require a whole different fit.

You've been given feedback. It's a bad idea so use3 Cruise already FFS!

I strongly echo the advice to go Cruise for PvE. Torps really need a range bonus like the Ravenkind get to work. Additionally, the Floon depends on mobility:sig for a significant part of it's tank. Additionally, it's pretty tight on fittings.

Given that you'll be getting ~900 DPS from Furies, you're not exactly losing out on that front. Possibly your EFT is outdated; Cruise Missiles got a massive boost with Odyssey (+25% base damage, +5% RoF)

Anyway as regards the fit, I'd start with something like:

6x Cruise II,
RF 100Mn AB, Gist Large Shield booster, 2x Invuln, PWNAGE
DCU II, 3x BCU II, 3x DDA II

Then put in as many Rigors as will fit, and put in CCCs or Cap Semis in any remaining rig slots.

Sentries, warriors, ECM drones to taste.

Thanks for the advice! Informative stuff with good information. However I'm still looking for a torp fit.

I'll play your silly game, where silly is defined as:
* I think you'll do more realized DPS with Meta 4 cruise launchers than T2 torps,
* the TFI is really tight on CPU, which makes shield tanking difficult,
* if you use torps, you'll have squat for range since the TFI doesn't get a missile speed bonus,
* missile range rigs incur a CPU penalty, and you're already short on CPU
* even with missile range rigs, torps still have squat for range,
* but if you use TPs instead of rigor/flare rigs, then you don't have mids for a shield tank, prop mode and cap booster,
* so you "have" to use rigor/flare rigs
* thus you need to MWD around to get into torp range,

Seriously, on a TFI, I would use meta 4 cruise launchers over T2 torps for level 4s, even against Angels.
