I'm pretty sure it's also impossible to lose level 1 of any skill, as well. I suppose I could try this on the test server, but eh.
It is possible, but requires an hideously highly ranked skill, an awful lot of skills trained, and a long string of poddings.

For instance, Freighter I is a rank 10 skill and thus requires 2,500 SP for its first level. So if you have 361+ skills with ≤2,500 SP in them (but not a single SP more), being podded should take you from 902,500 SP to 902,375 SP, and with a bit of luck, the Freighter skill will be picked for that SP loss, taking it down below the threshold for lvl I.

For reference, the free alpha clone has enough space for 3,600 ranks worth of lvl I skills. That's more than twice the number of ranks there are in the game…

If you can fly it before you can fly it now ....

the way I see it, its true as long you have your ship.
Once you loose the ship you loose the privilege and you need to train

Advanced Spaceship Command from 1 (before) to 5 now

But as you can read in this treat nobody knows for sure.

So please DEV give us a clear answer?

How much ******* clearer can it possibly be? There's not a god damn thing that is even REMOTELY ******* ambiguous about that. What part of that DEV-provided statement are you getting hung up on?

Is it the part with the words?

Because anyone who can read at even an elementary level should be able to grasp the basic meaning of that sentence. It's clear. It's concise. It leaves absolutely no room for confusion.

Could you fly it before? If the answer to that question is "yes", then you can fly it now! Simple!

It's possibly the most straightforward thing CCP has said in the entire 10 year history of the game. I could show it to someone who has never even heard of this game, and they would be able to tell me EXACTLY what it means.

My 90 year old grandmother could get a handle on it. Why can't you?

The way you see it is irrelevant. What matters is how the game works.

The game works in such a way that all you need in order to fly the ship are the prerequisites for the ship. It makes zero difference what the prerequisites are for injecting those skills.

No. Advanced Spaceship Command from I (before) to I (now).

We know for sure, and did long before the devs even had to answer.
As you can see from the charon info sheet, the ship has 2 (two!) prerequisites:
· Advanced Spaceship Command 1
· Caldari Freighter 1

That is all.

Biomass, it's your only solution.

At this point, I kind of feel like we should all collectively agree to respond to these threads by telling people that they won't be able to fly their ships until they train up all the prerequisites.

At least then we could milk these threads for some entertainment.

I would like to thank you for being helpful to all poasters.

And I would like to thank you for keeping your temper with some folk that I cant manage to!

what the hell has happened to the eve community, why has it degenerated to a bunch of brainless morons who think they can't do something before trying to find out they can do something.

I thought eve was meant to be a thinking mans game, well if this is an example of a thinking man, then we're screwed for the future.

How many dev blogs and forum posts have their been about this non-issue of an issue? yet people still come on and say "Waah I can't fly it now because I'm too derp to read dev-blogs and forums that say (and I'll say it loud and slowly) I F Y O U C O U L D F L Y I T B E F O R E T H E N Y O U C A N F L Y I T N O W"

The new requirements are for new trainees not existing skill holders.

And apart from T3 ships, you never lose any skills should you lose your ship, it's only if you're pod-killed and haven't got a sufficient clone that you will lose skill points, although your level of understanding in the game is questionable so to make it clear.

Your clone should have more capacity than your current skill point total.
Your skill for flying a charon didn't die with the ship.

and LOL for losing an empty freighter in a 0.4

Now that the Charon is a T3 ship (yay! industrial tech 3 overhaul!) you have to be careful about losing skill points upon ship destruction if you don't have the new prereqs. =(

False, but thanks for posting.

Pretty obvious he was trolling.
That could be. But with so many posting the same thing over and over, (I can't fly after the change etc) I have my doubts.

It was humor/sarcasm.

If you look at the character's evegate page:

And note that this thread is the OP's only recent post.

Given that Eve just turned 10 years old, I'm 99% sure the OP is an alt who is spoofing/satirizing, (aka trolling) the various "omg I can't fly my ships post Odyssey" threads.

i still advocate just banning them form the forums.

topics like this which are duplicate, redundant, and lack content just cause more work for ccp/isds. it's unfair on them that they have to clear up after other people's laziness. laziness is all it is really, if they'd have just read any of the numerous dev blogs/third party sources/etc they'd understand the system by now. it has been explained in so many ways it's impossible to explain again.

Edit: I don't look into chars that much tbh. :Effort: Lol

Yes, but... it's the age old question of how many players actually read the forums and/or dev blogs?

Next time CCP really should put a huge in-game login banner stating "If you could fly it before the Expansion/Patch, you can fly it now."
