Issues Logging In And Black Screen Upon Undock

I was only able to log my main in today, which isn't half bad imo. But then upon undock the screen went black. I tried to relog but now I can't get either character in (go figure).
Anyone else having this issue?

I am having the black screen issue upon login. Launcher logs me in, but I do not get to the character window...it drops to a black screen (in window mode or full screen). Waited 5 minutes, nothing.

Edit: cleared out caches, chat logs and the like. Now got through to the character selection and into game...but running very slow! Internet speed is 895kB upstream, 7.3 MB down.
