Whats Wrong With AFK Cloaking and Local?

So I'd just like to know... Exactly why is afk cloaking a problem? Why is local in need of a fix? What's your response?

Local is a very powerful intel tool. To counter that intel cloaky ships are used. But then there is no counter to cloaky ships.

So you have 2-sided problem, if you fix only 1 side, other will become OP.

they are both broken mechanics actually but together they kind of balance each other out.

Sure there is. Local is the counter to cloaky ships. Local lets you know that someone's there.
