WiS is important to EVE, not as important as FiS, but it's something that's been in work for so long, promised for so long, we've come so far, we can't turn back now. Let's fix EVE's FiS for a good while and let the devs work on WiS.

After this winter they still got to revisit the following.

1. FW
2. T3 (where's my t3 frigates and battleships?)
3. Lowsec (enough said)
4. Local/intel tools
5. all ships and stations to v3
6. boosters
7. incursian type content for the other pirate factions
8. new faction modules (where's my shadow serpentis damage control, or caldari navy gravimetric eccm?)
9. corp/alliance interface
10. updates to missile launcher and missile visual effects to bring them in line with the turrets
11. POS mechanics
12. mining specifically ice mining (it's ridiculous that a few high sec belts can supply 100% of the galaxy's isotope needs)
13. UI upgrades

I'd be willing to have more work done on WIS after they spend the next 3-5 expansions primarily focused on FIS. Keep a team on incarna and release more content for it when the code is optimized and there's actual gameplay (preferably with pvp). If there's no gameplay then it's just wasted dev time.

Yes to WiS and everything that comes along with it, such as player owned Establishments of Bars, Casinos, Markets, Security Offices with Brig, Promenade with Viewport, Hand to Hand Combat Arena, Corporate Conference Halls, etc.

No to laggy badly written half done coded content.

The whole idea is to turn a Space ship simulation game into a virtual real time sci-fi universe.
This. This is what I picture for EVE, a full on Sci-fi/Space faring civilization simulator. Where you can do anything, from blowing up Titans in Null to being a manager of some tiny pub in some little known station frequented by pirates Pirate

Since I know us Humans will never be a truly space faring civilization in my lifetime, I'd like if EVE were best able to at least provide me with a way to pretend like we really are that advanced. This also appears to be what CCP want(ed?).

One day, hopefully.

I'm all for letting WiS roll out on a reduced schedule. FiS, and other existing "pain points" in the active part of the Eve game, should be the priority... and have been accepted as such by CCP.

It appears to me that a lot of people up to this point have considered the question of WiS vs. FiS in isolation of other factors at CCP. Investing more heavily in WiS made sense while CCP was also working on World of Darkness. Now that the WoD project has gone more or less into hibernation, developing WiS as a demo platform for WoD's underlying engine makes little sense.

Alright, so, a majority of you seem to want WiS but not at the cost of FiS it seems.
Okay, I can kind of agree with this but the only problem I see is that if some resources aren't taken away from FiS to work on WiS, then we'll never get WiS fully realized. Plus, you have to admit, there will almost certainly always be bugs and issues in EVE, as is the case with pretty much any game, especially one as complicated as EVE. So, if we never take away from FiS because we want CCP to always be working on bug fixes and whatnot, then when are we supposed to get WiS?
I understand the rage at CCP implementing CQ with nothing to do, but they do have to start somewhere before the base of WiS is put in place and they can expand on it, no? It's better than completely dropping updates while they work solely to fill out WiS. Instead we get minor updates and fixes while we wait.

I figure, once the basics of WiS are in place, we'll start to see a bunch of content for WiS and FiS. Or well, we would have, but CCP has dropped WiS it seems to focus on FiS for now, which is what the more vocal folks on these forums wanted.

Anyways, that's how I see things. As much as I hate lack of content, I can see the overall goal CCP wants to achieve and I figure if they needed some time to do it, they should have gotten it or maybe better explained their development roadmap to us. Even if they have been talking about WiS since 2006.

Though, I certainly can't complain about all the nifty stuff we should be getting in this Winter expansion. With or without Establishments.

I was really looking forward to it. I hope we get something in some form soon. Eve is supposed to be a SiFi simulator. And as anyone who has seen a SiFi movie knows, people walk about in space stations as well as fly about in spaceships. Eve will never be complete without it.

Yeah, I think the OP's intention was to establish that this isn't YOUR private playground and other people might have a say in it..
