It's not as easy as yes or no.

I actually do want walking in stations, but not at the expense of FiS and other aspects of the game.

Before they changed their position on WiS, they had their priorities all wrong. But it's still to be seen, if they will do as they say.

I'd say yes, totally. I mean what's not to like about being able to do some stuff in-station (visiting bars, playing mini-games, etc.) while waiting for a PVP fleet?

It's not about turning EVE into a pure WiS game but about having something much more interesting to do than just spinning your ship while waiting for some planned FiS stuff.

Yes to WiS and everything that comes along with it, such as player owned Establishments of Bars, Casinos, Markets, Security Offices with Brig, Promenade with Viewport, Hand to Hand Combat Arena, Corporate Conference Halls, etc.

No to laggy badly written half done coded content.

The whole idea is to turn a Space ship simulation game into a virtual real time sci-fi universe.

Alright, so I'm curious how many of you actually do or do not want Incarna to be fully realized with Station Environments and whatnot, and the best way I can figure doing this is with a poll. Now, since we don't have an option for polls on this forum, I figure we can use the "like" buttons.

LIKE this post if you DO WANT Establishments and other Station Environments.

And I know some of you are going to come and accuse me of "like" whoring or something stupid like that, so to you I say.. If you actually care about how many "likes" somebody has on an Internet Forum, you have issues. That isn't my goal, I just figure it's easier than making an external poll that people will be too lazy to go to or something.

EDIT: Please keep in mind, I'm not asking if you want them RIGHT NOW. I'm asking if you EVER want them or not.

I'm not going to "like" this post because the question isn't that black and white.

My favourite choice would be that the current Incarna environment was redirected to /dev/bin and the original Incarna environment what Torfi tech demoed in fanfest was restored as end product goal. This would be slowly developed in background and released in 3-5 years.

Plenty of work has gone to current Incarna environment, but to solve all the issues and make it work would probably take even more time than binning the entire project (for eve) and reverting back to the original plan.

Difficult decisions, plenty of wasted time.

YES........but SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY

And optimized to the fullest before release in sections.

In a few years everyone's card will have better capabilities all around anyway, and probably far less issues for you (CCP) on the graphical end.

I for sure want that!
I was so happy when Incarna was on the road. I hope the focus will shift back in the future.

The space ships must come first, that's right. But I want multiplayer WiS, too !!!! Bear

Would I like an Audi A6 at some point, hell yes!

Will I ever need it .. probably not.
Do I want it if it means I won't get to have a ton of other equally important stuff .. **** no!

Yes if it has nothing whatsoever to do with Microtransactions/Vanity/NeX and will be entirely deilvered through player led industry and commerce in Eve's traditional economic sandbox AND has viable and entertaining activities and content planned out clearly from the beginning.

No if it has anything to do with selling MT in addition to the subscription and if the NeX store is not completely done away with.

It's hard to let go of the fact that this feature will not hit the airwaves anytime soon, but I understand that there were priorities to be made in light of the game's current affairs. I will continue to support EVE, because it's still an epic game, with or without the beautiful hotties I could have been creepily watching on the way to the Station's Datachip Encryptor, after a long day of fending off hackers from my Secure Mining Array, in my Anchorage industrial ship.

Like most people say I don’t think it’s a simple yes and no. I would like to see walking in stations so long as it adds something to the gameplay and so long as the flying in space side of the game is solid, better developed and remains the core of the game. In saying that I think in the long term the WiS is something that will be crucial for the future of EVE in attracting new players to the game. Obviously any MMO has to continually attract new players as people leave to pursue other interest or for whatever reason just get bored of the game. Let’s not kid ourselves. EVE is a hard game to sell to people more used to MMO’s like WoW or Rift.

When they get over the fact they don’t have to kill 100 bunny rabbits to get to level 2 they have to face the dull as hell missions, getting slaughtered in pvp challenges by killboard farmers and I won’t even mention the scams, mining and the terrible corps they are asked to join run by a CEO whose ego is ten times bigger than his brain. Being a noob in EVE is by in large a disappointing and confusing experience, and I think a WiS part of the game would make it an easier game to get into

I dont object to WiS but i want to know where the 'game' is in such a feature. Just walking around a giant shopping mall looking at shoes and boots isnt a game, its torture!

Look here frank chat:

I think people want WiS/Incarna, but just not forced down their throats. [Shocked] We want options, to be able to turn things off if we don’t like it. Going back to ship spinning and the other factional captain quarters coming out soon is a very positive move. I feel Incarna and Dust should move along hand in hand. Baby steps, making sure things get done correctly. But Eve "IS" about spaceship combat first and for most Attention

Do I want Station environments? Of ‘course I do Big smile Do I like Aurum? Hell no I don't Pirate I think that's something that needs to be worked on. But I also see that’s something that not going to go away either. [From other posts]Roll So the ability to opt out has to be there.

I like to think that in the future I could walk up to another player and trade with them in station; or have a screenie with my entire fleet mates. Have actually board meetings Lol

Don't give up on Incarna, just make it an option not the rule. This game is about choices. ~ I chose to run missions and skill up instead of mining and ratting; I choose to faction war instead of nul/low sec PvP; I chose to run incursions instead of WH space.

~ even I choose to ship spin instead of WiSAttentionIdea

See you in space everyone.

I want station environments because I want a fully fledged Science Fiction simulator one day.

Before I die I want to have my character stand up from a poker table at a bar in Jita, throw in a couple of stims after that rough night, order some last minute supplies at the Emporium 15 Levels deeper, then board his ship, get a ready support by an assistant on his way to the bridge. While traversing the system to the jump gate he will check his investments into the Sim City-like capital building project on planet IV. A jump later the ship will have to fight through some mercenaries posted at the gate then outrun a navy patrol in orbit of the target planet. After landing he will then don his combat gear, load his assault rifle and lead his ship's troops to investigate the rumours about the bio-accident at laboratory 51 at the hidden research station somewhere in the wilderness...

Yes. But the start of whole thing is not very promising, tbh. So far it looks like that CCP's big plans (to build all-around SciFi world), and their capability to bring those big plans to life are two very different things.
