Sorry if i missed something or if this seems silly.. But I'm trying to fit a Large Ionic Field Projector II Rig on a Gallente Erebus Titan in EFT, and its not effecting the ships max targeting lock range at all. Neither does using a Character with level V long range targeting skills.
Is this a glitch with the program, or are you simply not able to increase a titans target lock range? :(

I tried repeatedly to import my character but it wouldn't accept my API. Generated a new key, restarted the program, waited for cache to update, no luck. I'm using another fitting program for the moment which didn't have this problem.

Dumb question time - why does the API import work fine for EveMon and not for EFT for me - Vista Ultimate 64. There is something you are doing with the comms that must be too complicated - surely you just need to download an XML document???

Got the error W7 Ult 64. worked on the second import try for all characters.

Hello,

I love EFT and use it frequently.

However with this new version I have some nasty looking icons. Why do the module and slot icons have a black background with the rest of the window have a white background? This looks really ugly.

when importing fits from EFT into eve some of the modules names are wrong according to eve and are omitted from the fits.

Noticed an inconsistency:

If you have a pilot with Sentry Drone Interfacing V, Gallente Battleship IV, and Drone Interfacing IV, you will see different DPS values from Garde IIs in a Dominix battleship. I compared EFT 2.14 and 2.13.4. I did not compare other sentry drones.

Strangely enough all Vs shows the DPS values to be the same.

Edit: I am unable to reproduce this bug; everything is working as intended as far as sentry drone damage goes. Most likely I made an error earlier. My apologies.

I am happy to report that this new version seems to have none of the previous problems saving files. (the old one still does, but why use that, eh? :P )

All that's left for me to do is thank you, kind sir, for quite possibly the best Eve utility ever.

Question: How do I import gazillion .cfg files from old version of EFT the easy way?


Some incorrect answers:
1) You copy them in to EFT\Setups directory => won't be recognized (and will be wiped if you add some new setups inside EFT)
2) you do 1 and edit the FitList.html => Results in some kind of access violation and even if it would work it would not be easy as it will take gazillion hours to do
3) you export each fitting from the old version to xml and then import => would take 0.5 gazillion hours.

for each updated EFT i always copied the cfg files, your 1st choice and didnt have any problems

Doesn't work for me for EFT 2.14 and my cfg-files are about 1 year old.

I've tried 2 approaches:
1A) Unzip EFT, start EFT, let EFT create it's internal config files (like FitList.html), close EFT, add .cfg-files, restart EFT
2B) Unzip EFT, Create the Setups-directory, add .cfg-files, start EFT

No ship in EVE can have lock range further than 249 km.

Nothing in relation to how icons are displayed has been changed recently so it's very strange if you had it ok with previous version.

Make sure you have EFT.exe.manifest file present in the EFT folder. Also, you need 32-bit (true color) desktop color depth for icons to display correctly. For the systems without support of alpha-blended icons there is an option in the Preferences to use High-color icons as a workaround which can improve their look somehow.

Moving all the .cfg files to EFT\Setups folder should work. It may not work for you if you put your EFT into Program Files and have UAC enabled.

Another way to do this would be XML import: there is an option in "File->Import/Export to EVE" menu to "Save all setups to one XML file". Then you'll be able to import this file to new version easily.

FitList.html has nothing to do with setup saving - it's just an automatically generated html page which allows easy access to all you fits ingame through ingame browser.

Something has changed.

When you go into the display options and select the custom colors the high, med, low, etc items, each of the 5(?) squares don't show a color, and when you select it, the default color the dialog box comes up with is black.

Thanks guys. This worked. At least once I fixed the real problem.

My issues was that I sent the .CFG-files by email to another computer.
While in transit the format changed. Mainly the "new line" character.
Getting the files through in the "MSDOS-format" fixed the issue.

The character window has some problems laying out its components.

No matter how wide i made it, only "Skills" and "Implants" buttons are displayed, which means it is not possible to "Import" characters skills using API.

This caught me as well. When you create the character, you go and do the import (The icon with the green arrow) and it'll ask you for the API details.

Every time you go and update your character profile it'll ask you if you want to re-enter the API details unfortunately.
