I'm new to this wonderful tool (thank you so much for the enormous work you've put into this!), and I've managed to import my character with no problems.

Sorry if this has been raised before, but is there any way to import my ships, with their current fittings, so I can see exactly what I have and what I can do with them?

This is a very lazy question - of course I can swap between the client and EFT and manually identify and duplicate the fitting, but it would be wonderful timesaver to be able to just "suck in" a ship (by name or location), and start seeing the possibilities!

One other minor question/suggestion : my initial reaction to fitting weapons and modules from the list to the currently active ship window was to drag and drop them, but that's forbidden. The right-click menu is a great workaround (I do the same thing myself on my own software), but would it be possible to permit drag-and-drop from the module list to the ship(s) window(s)?

Those are the only things I found lacking - everything else, the details and layout, is just superb. So I hope you don't mind me asking these silly questions!

Cheers,
CephasB

it is a bit awkward until you get used to it but to fit a module to the ship double click it whilst having the mouse pointed at the module in the Fitting Panel where the modules are listed

to remove a module from a ship double click it and it will go away

if your just checking the affect of a module that cannot be turned on or off by clicking the Green Checkmark next to the module right click a module on a ship and select Open Market Group before you double click it to remove it and then it will be easily available in the Fitting Panel to double click and put back on the ship right away

making use of the search feature of the Fitting Panel is very handy once you get used to module names you can also type in the name of a ship there to start it up for fitting and when it appears below where the modules would normally be listed you can double click it

You can export ship fittings from the Eve Client First in Eve open the Fitting window, Save the ship fittings if you have not done so then in the EFT program click File > Import/Export > Open XML File Manager and checkmark what you wish to import and then click the import button

Hi

Awesome tool, been using it for a few years now without issue.

I would like to request something though. On the stats section, can you add the drone control range? For example I have built a Rattlesnake, I can see the ranges of the missiles, but not that of my primary weapon system. :)

Thanks.

I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

Put your mouse over the drone info and you can see the tooltip show your range
A Thank You,

I've been using this program for a very long time now and I strongly appreciate the hard work and dedication that is needed to make such a 3rd party program possible. It has really increased my knowledge of how to fit a variety of ships for both PvP and PvE to a level that I feel is far beyond what could ever be obtained otherwise. I have no doubts in my ability to design fits for any ship and I owe it all to this program.
Normally I am very patient and don't chomp at the bit waiting for the next update. It's not uncommon for me to use an out of date version of EFT until I find something that just doesn't add up and finally update.

However, with the new update coming around the corner that dramatically affects a lot of the Tier 1 and Tier 2 Battlecruises, some of them pretty much getting a complete over haul. Not to mention the changes to armor tanking. I am very much interested in throwing fits together for these ships.

My question is: What is the rough estimated release date of the next EFT version that will reflect these changes?

Although I have EFT pretty much running every minute that I have Eve running. I again really don't update immediately upon new released versions. I am mainly wondering if CCP releases detailed information on ships/modules ahead of a release for 3rd party developers or do 3rd part developers have to sit in the dark until each patch release as obviously this would dramtically affect release dates.

Thanks for your time and thanks again for such a great program :)

Not sure whats happened over the last week but every time I try to open EFT it shows on the task bar but there is no window. What?

I figured out why it was loading without a window. I use to have monitor 2 to the left of monitor 1 I moved it back to the right of monitor 1 and any programs that had been closed while monitor 2 was to the left of monitor 1 still thought monitor 2 was to the left and was opening on a screen that was no longer there.

So there wasn't anything wrong with EFT it was just windows being stupid and not opening it on monitor 2 whether it was on the left or right of monitor 1.

Would be nice if EFT would display meta level of modules. At least when you select Show Info.

Did you just said a couple of weekends? It is not unusual for EFt to update in a week after patch release.

Before any more unthankful and obnoxious demands for updates; there is a thread with modded eft retri 1.1 files on the lower half of the front page in Ships & Modules.

Googling "eft retribution 1.1" is hard. Since that seems too difficult for you here is the link.

Try thinking for yourself a little, I know it's inconvenient but it helps a lot.

However, being a noob, I never know what modules are available to affect the ship stats. Can I suggest that if you double click an icon on the right (e.g. Turrets, CPU, any of the resistances, the shield etc) that it filters the list list on the left to show all items that affect that stat.

There are just too many modules that can affect any given setup parameter for such feature to be practical and it is too complex to implement for educational purpose only.

You can drag and drop modules but you need to drop them to correct slot type for drop operation to be accepted.

Usually it takes few days to make an update (sometimes up to a week) and depends on my free time, my mood, amount of changes in EVE and amount of unfinished stuff in EFT which needs eigther to be finished or be rolled back for the next time. CCP were not making latest information available before but afaik they are aiming to improve that and this time they've made static data export as well as actual patch on the singularity available before release and it is definitely helps.
