I find it way harder to grasp fit's characteristics in quick glance in PyFa than in EFT. Patiently waiting for the update.
And thank for this great tool!

Patience is a virtue but it is way worth it when it comes to fitting tools! Big smile

Thanks for the continued support of EFT. Best fitting tool out there imho.

No, because he would not be allowed to use the EVE API then, if I remeber correctly...

Why is this? Bug or some confusing way the overheat works?

Seems to be a very edge case. MWD and Invulnerability Field have 10 second long cycles and Warp Disruptor has 5 second cycle so quite often activation cycle will end at the same moment for multiple modules and at that case heat damage will be applied in the order modules are fitted. One module can get fully damaged, go offline, start acting as a heatsink and allow other modules to survive for one cycle longer. Thus in such case module order can influence results slightly.

And while I'm here I'd like to throw a suggestion. I want to be able to search the abbrevations i use ingame.

Looks redudant to me. If you use module often you can just add it to favorites folder (did you know that you can create subfolders there?) and if you use it not so often it should be no problem to type few more letters in the search field. If you can't remember exact name of some named module variant you can just search or pick from favorites base TI or TII variant and use "Open Market Group" command to list all the similar modules. But since CCP eliminates unique module names last case wouldn't be a problem in the future.

I see a Navy module in the market section of Auxiliary Power Controls.

Because it doesn't have any faction in the name and modules are sorted automatically between the categories according to name.

How can i export only one fit and how many fits can i import, because i tried to import 224 and half way trough gives me an error ( something with wrong os call).

You can export selected setup through setup menu accessable by clicking downward arrow located to the left of setup list on Setups window. And there shouldn't be any limit of setup number but I can't say if an error you got related to EFT without more details.

Quentin Bitar wrote:
If I export a fitting from EVE the shipType value in the XML looks like this:
shipType value="<localized hint="Thorax">Thorax*</localized>"

If I try to import a fitting in EFT I get the error message:
Unknown ship type: lt;localized hint=quot;Thoraxquot;gt;Thorax*lt;/localizedgt;

If I try to import a fitting in EVE I get the error message;
Invalid file

This is an EVE bug quite obviously.

Id like to report a bug. The newest version is not saving my characters. I put in the API info, save it, and they are saved for the duration that i keep EFT open. But once i close it and reopen it, they are gone.

The only known case when such stuff can happen is a scenario with EFT put into Program Files and Windows User Account Control enabled. Just move EFT folder out to any other location.

Use the "All Level V" character, and fit an Oneiros. Put on a large 'Solace' Remote Bulwark Reconstruction.

The module uses 150 MW. Fitted (in-game) powergrid usage is 52.5 MW. EFT PG usage is 210.0 MW.

You are confusing Medium with the Large variant. Medium 'Solace' uses 150 MW and 52.5 when fitted on Oneiros. Large one uses 600 MW and 210 MW when fitted on Oneiros.

Using 2.14.8, target painters are handled oddly in falloff situations. My understanding is that when outside optimal, there is a chance the paint "misses". EFT's DPS graph seems to assume the paint will *always* miss outside optimal range, even if it's only 0.1 km outside optimal and in fact would have a very very high chance to successfully paint. Perhaps dps at a specific distance should be handled by expected value of [(paint chance)*(dps with) + (1-(paint chance))*(dps without)] at a given distance? ...

Yes, target painter effect is not applied in the falloff on the graphs. Solution you propose was discarded in the initial graphs design as it would trick people into thinking that EW modules in the falloff work in the same way as turrets and gradually reduce their effectiveness. I don't see current state as a big issue because painter on itself is a quite "weak" module and using it in the falloff is almost pointless. For the cases where target is painted from the other ship than one dealing damage you can always apply painter on the target setup using Projected Effects.

The cap penalty reduction that both the Thorax and Deimos ship bonuses gives is actually increasing the capacitor from the ship. I did not checked it on EvE yet but it shouldnt work like this there too.

They work like this ingame.

Gok wrote:
Maybe it is possible to add Energy Emission System skill to properly calculate Capacitor status of ships while fitted with Energy Vampires which have an Activation cost reduced with skill growth?

This skill does not affects Energy Vampires - only Energy Transfer Arrays and Energy Destabilizers.

You're awesome, Gripen.

Slightly confused about how the Reactive Armor Hardener works. Does it work like EFT suggests, or is it more nuanced? (For example, when I switch the damage profile, the resists stay the same. Do your resists actually change?)
