I have 125mm Railgun II loaded with Navy Antimatter.
I have 2x Tracking Enhancer II fitted

With my skills;
EFT shows me a range of 7.7km optimal and 13km falloff
In-game the ship fitting window is giving me 7.7km optimal and 20km falloff

Is this a bug or am I not reading things right.
I have latest version of EFT installed.

That might be because the game shows you something different in the popup when you mouse-over the module in space.
The popup shows you Optimal range, and Optimal + Falloff as "Falloff range" (which is the range at which your DPS drops to ~50%) . If you want to see the real falloff value right click your gun and check the attributes tab.

In EFT, it is "N optimal, then M falloff".
In game, it's "Optimal ends after N from the ship, falloff ends after M from the ship".

Everything armor 'Thermic" related is now named armor 'Thermal" ingame.

If you are new to EFT or have a question check FAQ.txt included to EFT archive before asking here. This little document covers few questions which have been asked multiple times already.

Officially supported platforms: Windows XP, Windows 7. There is no plans for non-Windows versions.

Known issues:
  • Mining Laser Crystals do not list all their skill requirements due to ore reprocessing skills are not included in EFT database
  • Industrial Core I will display incorrect Heavy Water consumption quantity when fitted to Rorqual.

Possible technical issues and workarounds:
  • Issue: Tooltips for missing skills indicator or ship bonuses appear empty without any text.
  • Solution: Create a shortcut for EFT.exe and add /OldHints switch to the Target box. Launch EFT with this shortcut.
  • Issue: Item icons display incorrectly, usually with black background.
  • Solution: If you are using 16-bit screen color depth try switching to 32-bit. Also try "Force high-color icons" option in EFT Preferences.
  • Issue: Some text, most noticeable groupbox captions in Setups window appear bolded and truncated.
  • Solution: This is caused by incompatibility between EFT and your Windows theme. Try a different one or disable use of themes for EFT only (Open Properties dialog for EFT.exe, click "Compatibility" tab and check "Disable visual themes").
  • Issue: On the first start or after an update EFT gives errors on startup like "File not found" or "Read beyond end of file" or "Access violation".
  • Solution: If this happens after an update refer to FAQ.txt for recommended update procedure. If this happens on the first start make sure you've instructed software you are using to extract archive to keep directory structure when extracting files.

Yes I can confirm the Thermic vs Thermal issue on Thermal Dissipation Field mods. Its a big deal because imported or exported fits to Eve get totally F***ed Up!

Please Fix!!!

So I went through with a hex editor and simply changed all instances of "Thermic" to "Thermal".

This is a very quick and dirty fix but seems to work for me.
Use it at your own risk but heres the modified file:

All fits you currently have saved will have their "Thermic" modules removed (you can avoid it by going through though cfg files with a text editor and replacing Thermic with Thermal).

Hey, I haven't gone through this forum thread looking to see if this issue has already been reported or not, but I have been having issues with my PowerGrid(PG) not matching by a small amount on several fits. EFT will say that my character with no implants or any modifications to any 'affecting skills', will be able to fit a certain fit, but it won't actually fit in-game. This is also with a CURRENT API updated (even deleted the character and created a new one as well as my API). Keep in mind, these fittings REALLY push the limit.. talking <1 PG left. Someone within my corp/alliance mentioned that it could possibly be an error in the Rounding? I double checked the PG values of all the modules with in-game stats, and everything seemed to check out.

Like I've said, I don't know what the issue could be, but if someone else could post a response/verify what I'm going through, that would be great. If this has already been mentioned as an error, I apologize for the re-post.

That might be because of an incorrect Checksum.
Did you try both download-sources?

'Thermic' modules seemed to have been renamed to 'Thermal', so clipboard importing from EFT to EVE breaks for those modules.

The EFT seems to use the term "Thermic" for hardeners etc. while EVE uses Thermal, getting import errors. I checked if i have the most recent version and it seems that I do indeed have the newest

EFT developer guy seems to be away from game, or not keeping EFT uptodate ..

some reason i like the look of EFT more then PYFA, but will be using it untill EFT wakes up again.
