You need to extract EFT from archive while keeping directory structure (e.g., "Use folder names" option in WinZip).

Thank you for the time, effort and dedication.

As one (of many) data point; I was successful with character importing by doing the import twice. First time, I encountered a WinINET error. The second time it worked fine. Version 2.14.1, Win7, 64-bit.

Trying to import the fittings into eve itself can be difficult as some of the modules names are wrong or changed such as lif fueled boosters I when in the game they are just lif fueled boosters. Same with the Y named afterburner/microwarpdrive. Not sure if others are affected.

Considering EFT has nothing to do with your credentials to gain access to your account info (Not API information) I call BS.

well, i dont mind you calling me on it, but it never hurts to be carefull.

while is very easy for some random guy to be trolling without knowing the facts, i dont say you might not be right..

I took the liberty of scanning the files from here and, after doing a verry through analisys only one antivirus reported something

might as wll be a false alarm, and these files might be safe but.. my reasons for comming forward and saying the above are:

1. one of my friends accounts have been hacked after using eft (not from here, from the main site)
ccp took action and reversed most of the damage to his account

2. after not longer than a few ours the main forum link to EFT has dissapeared

could the link have been removed by ccp? they are silent, the post is here now

just scan whatever third party things you install , especially if you fly flashy ships, or you are a corp's ceo :-p
abstain from opening links sent to you in game or via mail, whenever you see a site ccp-like, just doublecheck the link if it has the "eveonline.com" etc.

Paranoia saves lives :-p

API Import don't work for me, EvE server response and say my key is expired but that cant be because I create a new one....

encountered wininet error #12029 (can't connect), after just creating a new key.

api backend issues? when patching a client on another PC the patcher also "failed to find payload" (can't connect to the payload web server)

For EFT versions prior to 2.13.5 you need to use old API keys. Version 2.13.5 and newer use new customizable API keys.

the old EFT version (using the old keys) connected just fine, but the newer versions can't find the new keys

(tested using 2.13.4 and it found the old keys just fine again)

bit frustrating as I have no idea what settings could be playing with it.

edit: evemon finds the new customizable keys just fine.... *puzzled*

Right, so after going through all these posts I feel like a fkn noob.

Downloaded the file from the internet.

I use Mac OS Lion, and from what I can see it unzips files automatically or something.

I see this folder named EFT -of course. I open it and heres what's in it:

- Changes.txt
- Data (folder)
- EFT.exe --> which is the program right? Well the computer dozen't know the program it's supposed to open it with, so I can't open it
- EFT.exe.manifest --> can't open it either
- FitsTmpl.html
- Icons (other folder)

No installer or anything. Either I'm deeply re/tarded, or there's something wrong, but either way I need help =/


btw, I used to play with EFT before on vista and it worked fine, and it was a fkn great program, thanks so much for all the time you're putting into this, you deserve a friggin medal Gripen!

I love the new 2.14.1 Gripen. Import/Export to EVE > Save all setups to one XML file <--- so long have I desired something like that. When trying to export a few hundred saved fits from 4 years of EVE, it gets to be a pain to open each and every ship class just to see if I got them all.

Of course this is after having to have my old 2.14 EFT opened in one location, copy and paste the fits into 2.14.1; and manually open each fit to replace the renamed items, but still love the work you put in. Keep up the good work.
