I dunno about multiboxing but the jump animation is completely unnecessary. It's one of those features that most players turn of first chance they get... why do games have so many "features" like that Oops?

I mean an animation while stargate jumping, really? Are you trying to mask any lag when entering the system so the game has time to lad the other unnecessary animation - the system scanner - because if so you haven't really succeeded. All I can think when I jump now is "well I assume there is lag here... and man i hope the jump went through and it's not just playing the animation anyway since there is no indicator anymore".

A video for X Rebirth was linked in chat today and i watched it.

It does look quite pretty , i`m quite interested. My eyes didn`t bleed.
In other news,40 jump trip to jita still made my head thump last night. So CCP this feature hasn`t fixed itself yet.....
I assume that`s wht you guys are waiting for.

With any luck, it *could* be fixed for the winter expansion (somewhen in November). Counting on anything earlier is unlikely unless CCP gave a high priority to the issue, which obviously they haven't.

I didn`t see where they weren`t gonna bother in this thread.

I did see this quote

Wading into a can of worms I'm sure, but here goes.

We ARE looking at this and considering what we can do. The back end system used by the client has changed which makes a "turn off" not a real proposition. We are looking at ways to reduce the nausea reaction some players are experiencing through other means.

It would be helpful if we got feedback about what in particular during the jump sequence is causing the most difficulty

I am sorry for those adversely affected,.

I thought motion sickness was something for the previous century....

That said, @CCP, motion sickness can be prevented to some degree by adjusting the FOV. Give an option to players to change the FOV of the client.

Also, if anyone with motion sickness has multiple monitors, try a multimonitor resolution, that effectively reduces the FOV and should also reduce motion sickness symptoms.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

While I initially noted it gave me a slight headache, I've noticed lately that the warp is much faster and the animation appears to be more streamlined. But it might just be me...

I didn't see that reply, thanks Sally Deninard.

I still have to alt tab out of the game during every jump. I still think the scan should not start unless I ask it to.

I think that the one thing "in particular that causes difficulty" is a fast moving, spinning tunnel of clouds that makes me vomit in my mouth.

The scan animation is more of a pet peeve afterwards, but I don't think those who are not exploring should have to see the animation every time if they are not using the feature.

The more I read the forums over the years, the more I swear. To god. That the typos are intentional mistakes. Part o f the encryption.

I'm not sure if you've noticed but the animation now is way less annoying than it was at the beginning. For a start, the camera no longer swings around wildly. It zooms to the gate instead. Also, the flashy tunnel effects are not as gaudy as they were before. And lastly, the animation ends by zooming you onto a cloaked image of your ship -- this helps me (for one) orient. So all in all things are much better than they were a few weeks ago. I appreciate the fact that some players may not be able to live with this new effect. But I started posting on this thread out of an honest incapacity to deal with the most extreme aspect of the effects. That has now been removed. So I'm happy to return to the game.

I can't confirm the rest, but I am pretty sure that the animation has always ended with a cloaked image of the ship. And for me, it is very disorienting because at the end, I am always confused about what point of view I was during the animation... I would love CCP making a real 3rd-person view from the start...

...like the rest of the game in fact...

Ditto; I think the sudden switching between perspectives is one part of the disorientation people are experiencing.

As for myself, the timer is still ticking down. Honestly, aside from changing a few skills, I haven't hardly logged in the last couple of weeks - I just can't bring myself to do anything. It's very bizarre to think that something that should be so trivial is negatively impacting my game experience so severely, but there you have it: I've been effectively turned off from a game I love by a poorly done animation and devs who refused to listen to feedback and fail to comprehend the term "hotfix".

I'll have to check when I get home, but I asssume you can still display the timer you get post session change. Where you are immune for that period of time if you don't move.

I turned off the camera track on the object selected window and it doesn't move around like it did before.

I would suggest that everyone with concerns head over to Sisi to check out the new build. There have been some subtle changes to the jump animation that might interest you.

Camera swing is slower and smoother, less sudden jumping back and forth both before and after a jump. The "tunnel" effect is still there but your transition into it seems less abrupt (to me at least).

Interestingly they have changed up how your ship appears when "de cloaking" after a jump, with your ship often appearing almost at the edge of your screen and slowly drifting into it's accustomed place during warp... which is much more visually enjoyable (and somewhat restful on the eyes).

I have no idea if they are done with it yet, or if some of this is due to a bit of lag on the test server (it was at it's limits yesterday), but it's worthwhile to check it out and see what you think.

Be sure to do a bit of testing while you are over there, and provide feed back.

Just logged into Singularity, and I see no change with the camera swing or tunnel animation.

The camera swing is still abrupt, though I have noticed that it doesn't swing so bad depending on the angle travel to the gate.

The actual tunnel animation is still very choppy, and I don't see any of the "de-cloaking" effects described by Ranger 1.

My system is capable of running Eve, and I have no issues with graphics or performance in other aspects of the game.

Also, for those of you that care, the scan animation STILL scans, whether you want it to or not, and it doesn't look like that animation was re-worked, either. I looked for an option to disable scan upon system entry but I could find no such option.

It looks like CCP is going to stay the course on these new additions, so unless they come in here and state otherwise, I think this thread can die.

No point in beating a dead horse here. We spoke up, and that's all we really could do...

In-game sounds muted since Retribution, F10 Jumper since Odyssey

Most of what I mentioned is more apparent if you set an auto pilot route. While the camera swing appears slower and smoother (it doesn't abruptly jump to the gate before panning into position for the jump) regardless, the other effects I mention would only be apparent as it lines up on the next gate in your route.

As always, your mileage may vary.
