jeez if i saw a child get run over i'd stop to help. I'd also make a note of the van driver's reg number and give it to police.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

No, she didn't.

Also, I don't think VKhaun Vex understands what citation is. Not only that, but nearly every major publication covering this story is attributing this to the Bystander Effect. It's a sad thing, but it's a real thing. Maybe next time you'll try reading or learning something before slamming your hamfists on the keyboard. For now, we'll just chalk it up to your bad posting.

Orrrrr you could realize that China has an entirely different culture and legal system than the Western world. Many of the people were very much afraid of being held financially responsible for her death, the driver of the first van even said something along the lines of "[if she lives it will cost me hundreds of thousands, but if she dies it will only cost me a few thousand]" don't remember the quote, but it was along those lines.

The woman who eventually picked her up went to every shop keep and person nearby and kept asking whose child she was, and people would close the door or completely ignore her. Sure, Bystander Effect is pretty strong and can create situations like this, but China also has a slightly different culture which would be less horrified.

That being said, I found this pretty horrible. The complete nonchalance about the value of a human life (seriously, the second truck that just drove over her? that is most certainly not bystander effect, that's the "I don't give two fucks" effect) was rather frightening.
