Seen they were limiting the Ice anomalies to 2500 units in high sec before the anomaly expires. That sure is going to cause a lot of whinage here on the forums with ice being that limited, he he he. Halving the harvesters cycle times, plus lots of miners (I usually notice on average 60 miners in high sec ice belts) in the anomalies trying to vie for their piece of the pie, means those anomalies should expire quite quickly. Might just pop me some popcorn and go hang out, watch what happens. Could be quite entertaining. Lol

The best part of this change is it's going to wreak havoc on botter's income. Also, congrats to those who stocked up on ice product before Odyssey... you are gonna make yourselves some nice ISK off the ice. Twisted

You're pushing the metaphor way too far, nobody is ever gonna believe that watching ice mining could be entertaining.

I beg to differ... I want to see if fights break out between miners. Now that could be very entertaining. Blink

This will never happen in high-sec.

Yeah, but they have always had an abundance of ice. Now they won't. Even the most timid creature will fight if they feel they're endangered. Sigh... okay... fights probably won't break out between miners. Nothing wrong with hoping though. But there will be plenty of whinage to look forward to. I do see people with ISBoxer taking advantage of this though, and that should also cause a lot of whinage. Guess that will have to suffice in lieu of miners fighting amongst themselves.

it's taken you this long to find out about these changes? really?

miners won't fight over the ice, there's no reason to do so.

Slowpoke.jpg. OLD news, OP

OP is going to be VERY disappointed over the next week, when after each ice belt he warps to is depleted, the bots and afk miners simply sit there till they realize the ice is gone, then dock up for 4 hours for the respawn, or go to another nearby system. Fighting won't happen between miners for as long as there is concord. It wouldn't even be worth it to do cheap ganks of the other miners, because there are so many, and the ships are so easy to replace cheaply.

Respect. Cool

There is bound to be some interesting player driven emergent gameplay that will come after it hits. Player driven gameplay concerning ALL mining and exploration will evolve and I suspect a high amount of tears and angst to follow.

Botters mine rocks. AFKers mine ice.

I've been mining ice for two weeks all day every day. I have seen not a single bot, not a single gank ( a few war victims though) and not a single visit by anyone from the New Order.

It's funny how when you actually do something you realize how full of **** most of the people posting in here are.

I knew about the changes where they were placing them in anomalies... but didn't know how much were going to be in the actual anomalies until I just read the patch notes. Just found it surprising that it is going to be so little.

I haven't been near an ice belt in months, so don't really know the make up of what they are now days, but when I did venture into them, there were always some bots in the systems I went into. And there were gankers too. Things may have changed, probably mostly due to the changes in exhumers. Anyway, enjoy your profits. Blink

The place that will be highly contested is the couple of ice fields that are found in 0.0 space. Those will be worth a small fortune to whomever has control over them. Twisted

there has been a thread in S&I about it for weeks (fun fact, the thread has different numbers, it seems the patch notes are missing dark glitter in their null sec sites)
