A. What have The Milky Way inhabitants been doing for 20,000 since the wormhole closed? Why have the same circumstances for the original wormhole to open not repeated themselves in 20k+ years, or maybe they did to a different galaxy. Thirdly, I'm assuming based on their lack of appearance in Eden that they don't have the level of inter-stellar travel to travel many galaxies over.

B. Why was it in the 74 years the wormhole was open that we were sending expeditions and colonies into New Eden, no one was like "hey I'm going to use this badass, superior technology to figure out where, and what galaxy exactly this wormhole spits out at, in with relation to home, and mark it on a map, so if something happens we'll know what's up" Or perhaps they did, and something happened Milky Way side to account for 20,000+ years of silence.

FYI, the EvE gate is still here, and probably still working. (at least not destroyed)
You can see it in the New Eden System.
It's just in the middle of an EM storm.

The story is that 20k years ago, the worhole collapsed, but the gates build on both side kept working for a while.
Then one day, kaboom, EM storm, impossible to close up without being destroyed.
For all we know, the earthies could still be on the other side, waiting. Maybe the jove have a way to pass through? Shocked

From what I gather all space is connected. Terrans/ whoever, could be zooming at us right now. It has been 20,000 yrs or something right. IE Star Trek Voyager.

Don't really remember where I read this, maybe in one of the lore stories, but there was a paragraph implying that the jove are aware and have the technology to use the EVE gate back to the Milky Way Galaxy.

One other thing I remember is that the empires themselves are aware of the wormhole and the EVE gate and that they saw the strange markings on gate but could not figure out what language it was written in.

So imagine that everything changed for the new empires. Language, writing, signs etc. Remember that they reversed engineered space flight from stargate tech.

I really thought that Odyssey would allow us to go through the gate and scan for ancient earth tech.
Also the Angel are supposed to have found some of that earth tech.

And to answer the OP question, There are two maybe 3 changes of what has happened in the past 20k years.

1. And most probable is that the Human race collapsed, they were fighting before they found the WH
2. They are still alive.
3. Found another WH to another start cluster.

I would suspect the races of Eve got their name from the first ships is a guess of mine :P

Read somewhere that the EVE gate radiation is coming from the other side of the WH so I would assume someone (insert infamous ex-president of your choice the MMCXVII) dropped a massive a-bomb and blew up the galaxy.

They wouldn't all be USS. Gallente are french decention. USS is United States Ship, England ships are HMS, Her Majesties Ship. The Best ship names don't have a nation ticker anyways.

Reading the above quote I would guess that whatever happened to cut us off from our mother galaxy and destroying most life in this cluster originated in the Milky Way galaxy. It is believed that the gate is still open and whilst the electromagnetic storms remain we must assume that whatever happened in the milky way galaxy is still ongoing.

I would guess that our ancestors in the milky way galaxy would have suffered as big a loss of life if not more than us and it would be reasonable to assume that if they recovered they should not be any more advanced than us. Having said that the Jove survived the disaster much better than we did and are therefore much more technologically advanced than us, so we must allow for the possibility that our ancestors also survived like the Jove.

Whilst the electromagnetic storms persist however the fate of our ancestors is pure speculation, I believe that if they were capable of reaching us they would of done so. I believe one of the reasons the Jove remain separated from us is that they fear a return of our ancestors and if the Jove fear them then I personally have no desire to see the eve gate become accessible again.

Considering the devastation that was caused in this galaxy when the EVE Gate collapsed, I'd bet that Earth didn't fair that well.

Besides, if the Gate opened again it could collapse again. Thanks, but that's what almost destroyed the human race on this side. It took thousands of years from the time of the collapse to get to the point we're at now. Personally I'd prefer it stay closed. We don't want that kind of riffraff here anyway.

On a side note; if CCP ever decides to close TQ, an EVE Gate collapse would be a good event to wipe capsuleers out.

To clear a few things up, here are some points supported by chronicles, the two EVE books (Tony's books are the only REAL books), and various other official NON player BS lore.

Jovians were the least technologically inclined group that came from earth. They ended up creating large high warp ships that traveled to the haven constelation without the use of gates. This travel took a very long time, and they survived by using advanced cryosleep technology and here's the kicker.... Virtual realities. The joves may have not been the most advanced general tech or numbers, but they invested heavily in virtual worlds and those in cryosleep were uploaded into the virtual worlds. There were a few guardians left awake to take care of the ships on their voyage, and these caretakers became what is known as the jovians today.

For some reason, a powerful AI rose from within the virtual worlds created to support the cryosleep jovians, and this is the AI that possesed empress jamyl in the first and second EVE books. Sleeper drones are actually guarding the remaining cryosleep "pre-jovians" which are apparently still viable bodies. After the wormhole events, the cryosleep bodies were harvested by the major empires and the implants of these bodies allowed for planet-side individual mindlinks to use with empyrean resurrection technology. The problem with this is that the original implants were not reverse engineered, they were actual implants with parts of the pre-jovian's mind. This caused serious issues with the original dust combatants and allowed for the AI to control them. Implants were correctly provided/modified by a jove that was fighting against the AI, and provided to the amarrians who then gave the technology to all races.

There we go, enough history about the jove, let's move on to other points.

The EVE gate is still in tact and the jovians apparently have the technology to reach it, and possibly even activate it, but there are serious consequences. The ships came back either destroyed, or all the crew went batshit insane although we don't ever know if they made it to the other side. This is open to interpretation as to if the gate really does function on both ends any more, but the gate is at least there. NOTE: The wormhole is not named EVE, it is the actual gate built AROUND the wormhole that was named EVE. Once constructed, the gate was used instead of the wormhole, so we must assume that such a massive gate took insane amounts of energy. This may be why the joves are the only ones yet to attempt to travel through it. We must assume that the power needed for such a gate is beyond our current capabilities.

Now then, let's focus on the technology of terrans. As we have seen through the isogen isotope incident and the massive introduction of wormholes.... we must remember one thing, these wormholes are to another galaxy. Although our wormholes are much more unstable and smaller, they go the same distance or possibly even longer than the one to the milky way galaxy. The difference is that the new eden galaxy and the wormhole galaxy seem to be linked together. Since the wormhole galaxy holds the sleeping pre-jove ships, we must assume that jovians or a branch off of them figured out how to create cross galaxy wormhole or other form of travel to get to that other galaxy in the first place. This means that new eden technology made it possible to travel just like the EVE gate and original wormhole (near the EVE gate) did.

With this in mind, we can guess that if the terrans are more technologically advanced than even the joves, they should have the technology to direct a wormhole to new eden, and establish a new EVE gate if they wished. Due to the ravaging nature of the terrans at the time of the EVE gate, they would be VERY interested in getting back to new eden if they could. The truth may be that they found other galaxies more worth colonizing between those 20,000 years, but it still seems strange that they would not want to come back to new eden knowing it was a new rich place that had colonies already there.

Finally we must realize.... the EVE lore is really REALLY contradictory between time and media. The books will sometimes contradict the chronicles, the chronicles will contradict the EVE history, and in a nutshell EVE lore is just about as contradictory as the bible. I mean hell, the terrans were suppose to be united as some sort of single catholic space empire (I'm not joking.... look it up) and the amarrian religion is suppose to be based around those ideas. If you compare them, it makes a lot of since.
