the only things i'd like to see come back would be the minimize windows to bottom of the screen. and the old item management system.

personally i find the new versions frustrating and if anything a step backwards in useabuility.

minimize Windows to bottom? sounds nice, maybe i will add it to the thread

honestly i hate minimising windows and they jsut dissapear somewhere into the neo come and i have to go dig them out again. especailly with chat windows. it's just not a convienient way to manage things.

New Idea:

I found a solution for the clientsize problem and maybe the cost for updating two versions of software:

Back in 2008, we had two clients, a classic and premium. The classic client had the old 2003 graphic (V1 textures) while the premium had the new v2 textures.

- Make again two clienttypes instead of settings in general setings

In the classic client, you will have V3 textures (not for hangars), the rest (all turrets, missiles, nebulaes and other effects, that werent added after Dominion, will looks like in Aprocrypa 1.5. (Starfield of 2009 with algined stargates and near systems on starfield.

Making again two types may solve the following issues:

- testing evry new stuff will go faster (works it when option x is enabled, but option y and z is disabled?) - they only need it to test on both types.
- less clientsize (instead of up to 25 gb 18 for premium (actual) and 7 for classic)
- no performance loss due of increased clientsize
- might the cost for updating multiple software

i'm REALY miss the old stuff.

I think, that should be possibile. It was possibile 5 years ago, then should it be again possibile today.

New backgrounds would be nice. It was a cool idea but it gets old seeing the same background constantly for 20 jumps.

It was not feasable to support anymore, thats why they kicked the old client with a huge raise of the system requirements.

We have a lot of assets in the game now without the old models. They whould have to be created, or you would not see them anymore. They quit doing it for a reason.

I dont say anything about to bring back the classic client of 2008, just a 2nd client with the old turret modells, old missile effects and the old nebulaes.

btw, added old info window in attributes

the kinetic effects are just withe smoke bubbles, the thermal effects could be better.

At least, i hope, that CCP brings back the Jukebox and static complexes in rubicon, it dont takes too much work at all.

How do you know that? Have you access to the code base? Are you even a programmer? Have you ever worked in software engineering?

Only because a feature seems small on the outside does not say anything at all about the interaction with different parts of other code and the involved complexities.

I think we should strive to maintain forward progression in the game. It looks nice (and a heck of a lot better than it did years ago) and why anybody would want to revert back is a mystery to me.

I'm all for "more" though, more ships, sounds, effects, places to see/explore, etc.

I am firmly in the camp of "more nebulae". Each constellation should have their own again like they once did. Would certainly make long trips through space more scenic.

I never worked in softwareengineering, but:

the Ded complexes are just places in space, they can be moved by drag and dropping. Other then the spawning sites, that has to be scan down.

The Jukebox is just a music player, we had it already in 2001, so its not hard, to bring it back.
