Mine was only 600$ and it plays eve at max settings, 600$ I spent YEARS ago.

Not anymore... Current guns actually atttempt adapt to the color of the ships they're attached to. A feature impossible with the older dx7 tech.

The modells are stil the same, only the textures are new.

And what is with missilelaunchers and nebulaes?

Really? Stop bringing this back. its not going to happen. You are the only one that wants this. Please realize this. I am sorry that you really want it but you have to get over it. Just hope they make more changes that might possibly fit what you want.

Well, after reading a large portion of this thread, all I'm seeing is yet another user that doesn't want anything to change that they don't want changed. The one thing to point out though, is that it would appear this guy's issues are coming partially from the fact that he plays the game on lower settings. Whatever your opinion of current assets, I think we can all agree that there was less of a decrease in visual quality with the old ones when you turned down your settings. I mean, I realize that's due to the old models being as low-res as they were, but I guess that's still a valid point.

Still, though, it all comes down to the same reason why there is no longer a Classic client. Trying to maintain two sets of assets and especially two different clients takes up a large amount of manpower that could be spent on further improvements.

CCP probably did, but it was probably something OP didn't want to hear so it was summarily discarded.

Every toggle setting effectively doubles the work of CCP's QA teams. Now, instead of "Does this new thing work?" they have to test, "Does this new thing work with these settings enabled? Does it work when they are disabled?" Ad nauseam. Toggle settings of this nature are just no good, and lead to buggy products. I'm actually very surprised that CCP at one time supported two entirely different graphics settings (classic, and post-trinity.) Then again, I'm not entirely sure how much QA work CCP does. I'm sure they have a QA department, but we certainly never hear about it.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

a dev asked me for ideas, how the system can be improved. So, this thread wont go to rest in peace yet. I will edit the new idea in that thread in the next days. Improving the system with old functionalitys has to do something with the startpost.
