I have checked my firewall, restarted my router, restarted my comp, and even reinstalled the game (Twice), each reinstall taking 4 hours to complete, and I dont know what else to do. Has anyone else had this issue, or is it only me?

Yesterday launcher was working ok. Today, not so much. I launched ExeFile.exe from eve install/bin -directory. There is no problem with client, it connects normally.

Having the same problem. I logged in a few hours ago, went to do something else and now the launcher refuses to work.... I wish there was some way we could just launch the game and log in at some sort of splash screen - oh wait we already had that but apparently an out of game launcher is better O.o

Edit: Just give us the freaking old login method back. There are very few (IMO) good games that use external launchers.

Edit 2 : Not sure if its because of this or if CCP patched it, but I got mine working by running the repair tool and then running eve (safe mode).

Yes I found that several hours ago, but thanks for the pointer anyway.

If you want a little advice, you'd best not be getting rid of "exefile.exe logins" anytime soon because the only way I could see the message about manually d/l'ing the update was - you've guessed it - at the "old" login screen.

Edit - I could of course have trawled the forums, but surprisingly Roll

I didn't feel like doing that just so I could queue a skill before work.

I have a question for you, Aita, if you don't mind answering.

Lots of us here have had the problem of the launcher simply not launching at all when we click the desktop icon. We use the repair program but it doesn't fix it. However, the "updater" program inside of EVE\launcher\cache seems to fix the problem fine. I had to dig around to find it after I noticed that the repair program skipped the launcher folder altogether.

I ran an experiment afterwards. The launcher was working fine but I then ran the repair program again and, afterwards, it would not launch when I clicked on the desktop icon. I again ran the "updater" program and it fixed it perfectly.

Just to satisfy my curiosity... why does the repair program break the launcher in that instance? What?
